Morning.

Dealing with lots of work and a sinus infection.

I'm prone to sinus infections--dealt with them all through high school, allergies make them worse. Haven't had one since I quit smoking. Bleah.

I just want to go back to bed and hibernate.

Our high for the day was reached at 4am (52°). It's currently 33° and is only going to get colder throughout the day.

Poor TT.

Then again, 60 is freezing here early in the winter.
After a cold snap 30 is warm.

I was only down south in the fall or winter once, for Thanksgiving. It was cold and damp! That was New Orleans, which I think is always damp.
We didn't bring coats, and we needed them.

But I'll laugh at you anyway, the same way you get to laugh at us when it is 90 up here in the summer and we whine.

gross, but I'd still take that over our forecast -- low tonight of -6 and high tomorrow of 10. I'm already wearing my heavy duty long undies, and it's still frickin' cold.

It is suppose to snow again tomorrow. Ugh. At least a big chunk melted, so there is someplace to put the new snow.

Report on the house behind me....like any of you care... maybe I should have been taking pictures

Only a handful of guys. No power tools that I can hear.

It is going to snow tonight and the framing for the roof isn't up, so I have no clue how they will tarp it.

If they don't tarp it, the entire first floor and basement will get soaked.

I bet they are gutting it anyway, but this is just an invitation for mold.
Can't see all the water drying out in the winter.

Usually, until the roof and walls are up, the crews show up in full force every day. Then after it is somewhat waterproof, even if it is just a tarp over the plywood, they disappear for weeks . Once it is completely waterproof , windows, siding and roof, you don't see them for months.

Not a good sign.

From what I've seen, they don't really care about rain until they're ready to drywall. At that point, they'll have all the windows in, roof on, and heater in. They can run that to dry things out before insulating and drywalling.

That's why contractors hate to have owners looking over their shoulders. Dad always said he was happy to have owners around- he'd charge the contractor an extra half if he had to do what they wanted.

Just out of curiosity . . .

. . . if you live where it snows and own a car that isn't garaged, do you raise the windshield wipers up off the windshield when snow is expected?

I leave mine down. IMO it is easier to scrape the window like that, and some card have heating elements there.

Still single, can't imagine why.

For me it generally depends on how much snow is predicted; more than 2-3 inches, I put 'em up - easier to sweep the snow off. I'll also put them up if ice is predicted so they don't freeze to the glass.

Sometimes I have to go with the old saying, "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" only modified for the internet as,

"Make sure everything you say is nice, that you can word it in a way that won't be misunderstood as being rude or insulting by a large number of people of varying perspectives and dispositions who can not hear the tone of your statement, and that you could never be injured by its public record, or keep your hands away from the keyboard."

Sure used to be a lot easier in the old days. :P

We get so little snow that I never thought about it! We are supposed to get an inch of snow tonight. AZ, hubby got a replacement battery for his new blackberry and it is working great. He has only used one bar all day. The original battery would be just about dead by now.

And don't forget not to talk about anything you feel too strongly about, or someone could say something negative about it, without realizing your strong feelings on the subject, and upset you.

Also, beware the grammar nazis, trolls, fanbois, haterz, ect ect ect

Yea, that is this semester. It is ok so far. Haven't met any a-holes yet. Have to do some BS prerequisites because of transferring but it isn't that bad.
