They say it's the cream that rises to the top, but the truth is that buoyancy is a poor measure of quality. After all, which would you rather own, a gold ingot, or a Ziploc bag full of hair? When someone offers you this choice, we hope you're not applying the will-it-float test to determine value. With all that in mind, this week's Woot podcast features a few of the things that bobbed up in front of us at CES in Las Vegas last week. Our Wootable Awards aren't necessarily given to the BEST stuff at the show -- just the most buoyant.

YaY! I finally won something! And mom said I'd never amount to anything.

Be sure to watch my latest Vladimir the Irradiated w00t Monkey Video which was Debuted at CES 2011, straight from w00t.com's Blog (buried somewhere near the bottom)!

Vlad Opens his first "Bag of Crap"

and don't miss Vlad's first video, as "Seen on w00t"!

The Video Memo people also apparently think that fish lips are attractive, since they have the model doing that. Yuck.

Giant Backpack FTW! That's like a +1000 Bag of Holding.

You just know the Everki backpack (had to Google it) will show up in someone's Big o' Cosmos in the future. Were they giving free samples? What else did you have for the show 'goodies' redistribution in the workplace when you folks got back to work?

I'm ashamed to admit, I was too star struck to even say hi to the Woot guys. But, I did catch the first screaming monkey! Zing!

is anyone else annoyed that the CES coverage, which would normally eat up hours of a workday, can no longer be enjoying since some rational and productive companies block youtube? how am I supposed to avoid doing work? i'm sure not going to go home and watch them... oh well...

I think the same people that made that backpack made this golfbag

Loved the video. Woot again saves me money from having to buy a ticket to go and see the CES show. My only worry is if the Woot monkeys and Tribbles start hanging out together.

And even for those of us who can get the video, some can't really turn the sound on. Thanks for at least showing the category names, but I'm sure I missed some good snarky commentary.

I'm sure you are very happy now that every mentally unbalanced wooter knows your real name and business. Prepare for the stalkers.

You may not be able to hear the snarky commentary, but you can get some truly surreal commentary by clicking the (cc) tag on the YouTube page and reading the auto-transcribed commentary.

Most awesome video podcast EV-ER! Hilarious I thought but hey, I'm easily amused. I went to CES and the Woot booth this year and last year and well for a long time. I wasn't treated very nicely this year but I only have 500 Woots. I guess you need to have Wooted everyday from day one to be considered a 'serious' Wooter. (My wife keeps telling, me to stop Wooting off in the corner, lest I go blind.) Toon said he would call me for an interview last year cause I went to the booth and had about 400 Woots then, but I guess life in Wootland is busy. Anyway I was there, I wanted to see what all my Woots bought, what no Woot babes?!?!?!

Boo! We definitely took about 30minutes or more just to chat with you woot guys at CES :P maybe we shouldve stalled around for longer and perhaps then we wouldve been considered for a woot award. Anyways, it was a great show! See you guys next year!

I said hi. It was amazing the difference between this year and last year, though. Last year? NO crushing crowds of monkey-grabbing doom. I don't know if it's just Woot is now better known or if people just love a free stuffed animal. I nearly got trampled for a stuffed puppy over at the LG booth this year.

Would love to watch the video, but YouTube says you've either:
1. Chosen not to let the video be seen in Germany, or
2. Embeded N_a_z_i_ imagery in the video.

I quote, "Some YouTube content partners choose to make their videos available only to certain countries. For instance, they may only have the licensing rights for a particular region. On occasion, YouTube does block specific content in order to comply with local laws in countries where YouTube has launched. For instance, certain Need more history channel. imagery is unlawful in parts of Europe."

Weird! The video does contain the word "fascistic" (at 3:41), but that doesn't seem like it should do it.
