If this was a King I would go for it. I'm a sexy sleeper and need MOAR room for the additional activities that go bump in the night.

Seriously WOOT??? A Mattress? What's next, a throw rug? Curtains? A nice table cloth for Christmas dinner? Remember when WOOT sold cool stuff??? That was AWESOME!

I own a tempurpedic, mattresses of this sort are meant to be used on solid platforms. Use it with a box spring and you will not get good results.

We (husband and myself) bought this one from Woot about 6 months ago. It was so incredibly comfortable - just one night on this mattress helped our lower back pain.

Unfortunately, I have bad allergies, and have alot of trouble with strong smells. We followed instructions to leave it sitting out for several days (to cure). We tried leaving it propped up on blocks, with several windows open to let help with ventilation. We put it outside for a while. After about 2 months of trying to air it out, we ended up getting rid of it. I'd end up with a horrible headache after being in the same room with the mattress, for just a little while.

After just a few days of airing it out, my husband could no longer smell the mattress. It wasn't nearly as strong, after 2 months, but still strong enough to really bother me.

So, if you have really severe allergies to smells, etc, I wouldn't recommend it. If you don't, it's an amazing mattress!

you get what you pay for. if a $300 memory foam mattress sounds too good to be true, in this case it is. we bought ours a year ago from woot and in less than eight months it was too uncomfortable to use. my wife is 150 & I'm 190.

My sister bought one the last time they were offered and the thing gave off a noxious odor that rendered it useless. They couldn't get a refund so they lost their money. Beware

Bought one about a 1.5 years ago, after ~6 months it starting having a memory for us. Now the mattress has valleys where we lay.

Would not buy another one, other manufactures cover this problem for 5 year, not this one!!!!!

We bought one of these last time it was on woot. Soon after, it developed a huge dip on one side...I have to roll up to get to the other side. I am lighter than my boyfriend but his side is fine! A real memory foam mattress is SO much better. I would save for that instead.

OK, gross question: How do these do with cat urine? Can you clean it out, or one and done?

I bought this mattress that last time it was on Woot in July, and it caved in within 2-3 months. It was really comfortable for the first month and then it slowly started to degrade. It ended up after a while with me basically having horrible back pain and having to stop sleeping on it. Woot/MerchSource (the company that Woot gets the mattress from) gave me back my money luckily though after cutting it in half to prove that the foam had collapsed. I would stay far away from this mattress. Not to mention that it's 50 dollars more than when they had it on here last time.

WARNING WARNING DANGER DANGER

I got one of the memory foam mattresses from the last WOOT offering. The thing was hard as a rock, stank to high heaven, and never "expanded" from it's compressed shipping roll. WOOT weaseled out ad told me to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer wouldn't respond.

$200 waste of money.
Worst experience EVER with WOOT.

I bought this from woot a about a year ago...and it is simply awesome. I am a very big guy (320 lbs)..and there have been no grooves or pockets or anything formed in it. Highly recommended

I had the same problem with the mattress caving in. It doesn't have anything to do with the base the mattress is on, it's definitely the poor quality of the foam. I'm sure Tempurpedic mattresses are 100 times better than this.

That ventilation system could be really useful on nights when I'm feeling particularly gassy.

I bought one last time. The first night was a little rough with a sore back, after that it was amazing and I love it.

I have trouble sleeping on another mattress today, as they are too hard/bouncy. This is firm, yet sponge-like.

I have mine lying directly on the carpeted floor like a california-style, without any other sort of support base, and it is great.

I also bought one last woot, 300.00. It did loose the chemical smell after a few days but over all I'm complete disappointed and shopping for a replacement.

The vent system is code for "you can never flip this mattress". And like others have mentioned, both sides have dips after only a couple months of use. Getting out of bed requires either a rope and pulley, or 6 large men to pull you up. My wife insists her back pain is the result of this mattress.

I highly suggest you skip this one. I'm all about a bargain but as my dad told me, and his dad told him, never skimp on oysters and mattresses. Alright he never said that, but he could have saved me 300 bucks and a week of misery if he had.

I bought a memory foam pet bed for the dog, but I honestly can't say how good it is for human use.

You know how sleeping dogs lie.

I've got an inferiority complex...

But not a very good one.

We recently went mattress shopping and found that very few companies have mastered making a memory foam mattress that can stand the test of time...or survive a couple years.

BUT for $300 it could be worth the risk

If this is anything like the King size one that was sold by Sellout.Woot a while ago, DO NOT BUY... I had to throw it out after about 6 months. The foam did not expand anymore. Yes, I let it expand all the way before use, No I am not massively overweight. Yes, the room was at a normal (72F) temperature.

I would never buy a mattress online again, you don't know what you're getting, and you cannot return it.

Sorry, that's just my $0.02...

You'd probably want to buy a waterproof mattress cover for it. Anything that soaks into the foam is there forever.

I bought this several months ago from woot. Don't buy this, it flattens out during the night and you wake up sleeping on base boards. It may work better with a box spring, but our bed is from Ikea and dose not have a box spring.

I bought this last time around after having a 4" memory foam topper that I love and thinking this would be even better.

It's not.

It lasted 2 night. the sides fold up on you like a taco and you are stuck in one spot unable to roll over at all. If you want to get closer to the one you love, buy this bed because you'll be on top of each other all night.

Might work ok as a kid's mattress if they're less than 100lbs but a full grown adult close to 200 lbs is going to have problems.

The density of the foam is the cheaper stuff too - not thick and heavy at all compared to high quality foam like Tempur. This entire mattress weighs less than my 4" topper.

If you really want one and you live in Ohio - come by and you can have mine for $50.

Same Model number as this one: http://www.amazon.com/Sarah-Peyton-10-Inch-Sensations-Mattress/dp/B001TRET1O/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Reviews are hot and cold. Maybe the reason why they slashed the price?

I can't decide.

I don't know. The ventilation system is what's making me consider it. My boyfriend has a "normal" one of these, and it really retains a lot of body heat... which is fine in January and not so awesome in July.

If you are correct on which one it is... that answers my question. My concern was on where the foam was manufactured. Unless it is made in the USA or Sweden you risk unknown chemicals being used and lord knows what type of smells. If it is a Sarah-Peyton mattress I will pass, I've read too many reviews that had bad experiences with them from chemical smells that wouldn't go away (seems they are made in China where they put toxic waste in pet food).

I would think building your own would be difficult. If you didn't use glue to put the layers together, you would get slippage, if you did use glue, you would have to be very particular about how that glue would react with the materials, and if it would be safe to breath in every night. I noticed the link you provided does have mattresses. Why did you decide on this company? Have you seen reviews for their products? Thanks

No. That's not me.

I bought this woot a few months ago. My wife and I love it. Yes, there was a weird odor that lasted for a few weeks, but it was worth putting up with. My daughter's "brand name" one had a similar odor, and cost five times as much.

Bought it last summer...Too mushy and sets too low in bed frame. I sold it on craigslist for $50 bucks.
You are better off buying the 3 inch topper at Costco and putting it on your current mattress.

I have to agree with this. We bought this mattress a while ago and we are quite disappointed. I am normal weight (200lb) and have to sleep in quite a pit. The divot is so deep that my wife rolls into it.

Memory foam mattresses bring sleep to an entirely new level. The fact that this has ventilation is a major plus. I got a twin sized one for a buddy of mine with back problems and he has felt better ever since.

Don't you need "cool" air in your home for the ventilation system that this mattress has to work? All the air in my house is square!
