You can go in and check your purchase history. You should have seen a receipt after clicking the stupidly big buy it button. You should also get a confirmation email.

jonnyj03 wrote:This is a terrible deal. Refurbished 100,000:1 contrast ratio...

You can go buy a brand new Samsung 4,000,000:1 contrast ratio BRAND NEW for 700$.

Vizio BLOWS by the way the picture quality is complete crap compared to a Samsung, LG, Sony television. Waste of money.

And when I say 700$ you get a 1080p 120hz Samsung. Why spend 150$ less for a TV that isn't even close to what Samsung offers... REFURBED also haha what a joke

And for you people asking for "proof" LOL

It is sitting in my Living Room as we speak and I bought it 2 months ago, have a nice day.

So for 27% more money you can get a 1080p 120hz Samsung instead of a 1080p 120hz Vizio?

As far as the Samsung advertised contrast ratio, its pointless. See: http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.com/contrast-ratio.html

For argument sake even if the Samsung is better, for 27% more money than that I bet you could do even better. Then just 27% more money than that.... Might as well just buy the most expensive top of the line set you can find if that is your theroy.

Don't take it personally - I have no idea whether the story is true. I was only defending the OP. Perhaps he didn't want to bore us with the details - maybe Fedex (not UPS as he stated) determined that their employee was stealing.

If I cared, I would have asked the OP to provide more detail about how he knew the driver was stealing, rather than just accuse him by saying his story was dubious.

BTW, my wife used to work in NYC, and she knew a UPS driver who told her that drivers frequently threw packages around for fun. She asked if that was true about ones marked as fragile, and he told her they threw those higher.

A no-name brand? It's the largest TV manufacturer in the US. Just about every public place you see with a LCD TV hanging on the wall, it's a Vizio.

Here's how I like to look at it, and I used to sell HDTVs: the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz is much more noticeable than the difference between 120Hz and 240Hz.

I've had a refurbished 37" Visio VX37L for four years and have had absolutely no complaints (other than too few HDMI inputs, but I knew that going in). I paid over $700 for it, and if I needed a new TV right now I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one from Woot.

You're kidding, right? You know that is all BS, right? Right??

Your input video is either 24fps (movies) or 30fps (tv), thus your brain is "interpolating" the same amount whether you're at 60 or 120Hz. The benefit is that you have no judder. Not that most people would notice anyway - it's a fairly hard to notice effect.

Thanks to the great number of positive reviews here compared to the smaller number of negatives, I sprung for one. Note: no cables are included. What?? Well, I might have some power cables and a monitor cable but HDM1 cables might be expensive, unless you folks have recommendations.

Hey Soldier! Take it from this 11 year veteran of Der Vaterland -- check with Apple's shipping rules for the work-around... Go through the order process for an iMac or such on the Apple website. Enter your APO as shipping address. You'll soon discover (via pop-up window) Apple doesn't ship to APO addresses. But Apple provides references to places that help a troop out. Best of luck! So you can buy the SquareTrade 1-2 warranty off of Woot using the 30% coupon, SUPER.

Or you can buy the SquareTrade 3-year warranty off of Amazon for $80. Anyone know if this is kosher and works for this TV?

From the other responses, it looks like it will power from 220 V 50 Hz, however, TV transmission there is different and the ATSC tuner probably won't be very useful. For watching dvd and cable, it should be fine though.

I'm chiming in a little late, but I just wanted to make sure that everyone takes SquareTrade up on their extended warranty. I bought a Vizio 47 inch (SV470XVT) refurb from woot on 12/11/2009 and it died outside of the Vizio 90 day warranty less than a year later. I did not have the warranty at the time either to protect the product.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) is the deity of the parody religion[1][2] the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster or Pastafarianism.[3] Created in 2005 by Oregon State physics graduate Bobby Henderson, it was originally intended as a satirical protest against the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to permit the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to evolution in public schools. In an open letter sent to the Kansas State Board of Education, Henderson parodied the concept of intelligent design by professing belief in a supernatural creator that closely resembles spaghetti and meatballs. Henderson further called for his "Pastafarian" (portmanteau of pasta and Rastafarian) theory of creation to be allotted equal time in science classrooms alongside intelligent design and evolution.
