Absolutely, it will work in the Wii. 32GB is the largest card recognized and supported. Class 10 is also the fastest so games will load quickly from the card. So to answer your question, at $30 it is a good buy. The question is, do you really need 32 GB? 8 GB might still be overkill with downloading a lot of Virtual Console titles, but the price alternative for a card that size is negligibly less.

If the brand is any indicator this is a great card. Centon is one of the best memory makers out now.

In for 2. My camera only requires class 6 (the fastest at the time) for HD video (720 or slow 1080). So even if it's class 6 it'll be fine. Hope it doesnt crash and burn

Check carefully.

Not all cards work with all devices, no matter what the specs day.

I just RMA'ed a Patriot 32GB LX-series SD card because it formats just fine on my D7000, but after five or six photos the camera no longer recognizes the card.

Grabbing one for my DSi XL. I was just considering getting one yesterday, but am not sure i'll even need it for anything, and the cards are expensive. This is a bit less expensive, so... I'm in.

Amazon sued and the case is expected to reach the Supreme Court.

Not exactly correct. The NY argument is that Amazon "does" have a presence in the state thru their affiliates.

That is, Amazon offers a program where anyone can sell for Amazon thru an affiliate program. Since some affiliates do live in NY... NY claims they have a presence in the state. 99.9% of companies on line do have an affiliate program. Just scroll down to the bottom of most pages and you'll see a link to affiliates, partners, or whatever.

Does it suck? Yup. Some companies that have affiliate programs have dropped anyone living in NY just for that reason. On the other hand, in order to be liable for taxing, the company must sell over $10k per month in that state. Which Amazon likely does.

At first I wasn't going to get this, despite how badly I wanted it. I haven't seen a price this good for SD memory at class ten, well, ever.

But then I remembered the 3ds takes SD memory. I don't know if I will ever need 32 gigs of memory in my 3ds but it was reason enough for me to fetch this.

Those refer to video bitrates (in megabits per second), not the card's rated speed. It's simply stating how much the card can hold at different video qualities. The original post stating that Class 10 = "10mbps" should be read as 10 megabytes per second (capitalization is serious business though, Mb = megabit and MB = megabyte).

Actually, you just need to update your Wii.

The Wii can take a maximum of 32Gigs exactly, which means this is probably about perfect for it.

Though HOW you'd use that much space on just the Wii would be bewildering to me.

Just to clarify the info regarding ReadyBoost:

# Windows Vista x86 & x64 is limited to using 4 GB; this restriction has been removed in Windows 7.

# Windows 7 allows up to eight devices for a maximum of 256 GB of additional memory

I'll be using this to give a nice boost to my Windows 7 PC!

Enough already!!! We have multiple Wooters referring to the same Amazon review over and over again that some Centon cards, where the Class ratings were not as advertised. (i.e. Class 6 cards actually being only Class 4 etc.)

And we also have multiple Wooters offering their two cents by saying "Don't by this brand ...not reliable... brand is no good".

I find it interesting the vast majority of these naysayers don't actually own any Centon cards but are actually basing their opinions on the few negative reviews they've found online. Personally... I take the few negative reviews with a grain of salt.

Research studies have shown, if you go to a restaurant and get bad service and/or a bad meal you are 56% more likely to complain and tell all your friends about how bad everything was. But if the meal / service was great you typically don't mention it to anyone unless a person asks you for a restaurant recommendation.

Class issues aside, I find it interesting that > these 52 reviewers < rate their Centon 16GB cards very high! Gee... they must all be wrong about Centon quality since so many Wooters have jumped on the crap band wagon.

Everyone keeps pointing out the negative comments on Amazon.

I would like to point out a couple things.

1 - The review is for a different card than what is offered here.

2 - Of the 6 bad reviews only 1 is a verified purchase made on Amazon. In fact one mentions getting it from a local store.

3 - One guy mentions that it looks like some sellers are swapping the advertised cards with other cards.

4 - One buyer was mad that Centon did not want to pay the bill to have him return it and ship him a replacement.

Woot! is not going to sell you something that turns out to be different from what they promised and then leave you hanging.

It is 10x more likely someone who has a bad experience is going to write a review. If you read the Woot! boards how often do you see a post of - Mine came in a timely fashion, and works perfectly fine? Or are we more likely to see ZOMG ITS 2 DAYS AFTER THEY SAID IT WOULD BE HERE!

It is possible for a single bad unit to make it past quality control, it does not mean all cards will end up being bad.

Testing the speed of the card is easy and simple. There are a whole set of tools to use to verify the speed and size of flash memory.

Flash memory is often knocked off, Kingston has an entire website to validate their cards. It is possible some reviews are for cards that were fakes. Everyone knows to look for Kingston fakes, who would think someone would knock of Centon? All it takes is a sticker.

It would work on the Wii; Nintendo says the Wii supports SD cards up to 32 GB if you've updated your Wii firmware to v4.0 or newer. It's highly unlikely that you'd ever use 32 GB of storage on the Wii, but $30 is still cheap for an SD card.

This is because of the so-called "Amazon Tax Law" it passed, saying that if it did commerce in New York, aka has NY customers, it must collect sales tax and hand it over to NY. Amazon sued and the case is expected to reach the Supreme Court.

The question is whether any state has a right to make Amazon (or any company) its unpaid tax collector (thus effectively an uncompensated employee). Especially when the taxes are of no benefit to Amazon, and would even hurt sales (by effectively raising prices). It can be argued that in-state businesses should collect sales tax because the taxes benefit NY, thus indirectly benefit the business. But Amazon has absolutely no presence in NY. Furthermore, if NY wants sales tax, why doesn't NY go after its residents, who are clearly under its physical jurisdiction, rather than Amazon, which has no physical presence?

Even non-NYers should pay attention to this case because many states have similar laws in the works, pending the outcome of Amazon's lawsuit. Needless to say, these laws would change the culture of online commerce since many people shop online to avoid sales tax. In fact, many people would rather pay s/h (which they see as a necessary service fee) than tax.

Personally, I've spent a lot less on Amazon and Buy.com since they started collecting tax -- instead, taking my business to NewEgg, which still does not. And a lot of my money is going to Hong Kong via eBay, especially for small electronics. Let's see NY try to force them to collect taxes! (if NY should force eBay to collect sales tax, I'll just deal with the foreign vendors directly)

They are going after New Yorkers. Consumption taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. The seller only has to collect and account for it, then at the end of the year write a check to the state for the amount they collected. It's hardly an onerous burden... Amazon already does it in states where it has a physical presence. They just don't want to do it in other states because that is a significant perceived advantage of Internet sales that offsets the fact that the buyer has to pay shipping (in most cases).

So this isn't unfairly burdening Amazon, they just like the status quo because it gives them an unfair advantage over their brick-and-mortar competitors. If I was Amazon, I'd certainly fight it... but the state of NY is in the right, insofar as the state has the right to levy consumption taxes. It is NOT taxing Amazon one cent... the state is taxing its own citizens who buy through Amazon, just as it would tax its citizens who walk into a Walmart and buy something. It is closing a tax loophole.

And regarding foreign vendors, you are responsible for customs duties. Surely you are in compliance with federal laws... after all, you don't have to agree with a law to be prosecuted for violating it.

You could, but there are lots of reasons not to. Speed being the first one. This will be noticeably slower than a hard drive.

The first big hurdle is making sure your desktop supports booting from SD. It works for most netbooks nowdays.
Then it is a matter of prepping the card.
I've made bootable flash drives that Windows PE based toolkits to fix computers, so I am sure using an SD card would work the same.

People who own netbooks often use large cards like this to try different operating systems out. I know I had played with the MeeGo OS on my netbook once upon a time.

It's good to see that people are buying these for the Nintendo products that support them. For what it's worth, this would also be a good purchase for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS. Nintendo has said it will support 3D movies on its screen, and that's most likely gonna take a huge/fast memory card to handle. This would be a good choice, I would think, in both regards.
