Not helpful if you have a device that works perfectly well and has a component video output. I don't generally throw things away just because they are obsolete, as long as they still perform well.

This TV reportedly comes with an adapter that turns the VGA port into component inputs.

Yeah and I heard from a friend of a friend of a friend's brother-in-law's cousin twice removed's mother-in-law's brother that these tvs will cook your brain and turn you into an ACTUAL zombie!

Though that might be a plus for me. ;-)

I like it! The speakers aren't great but I added some cheap extras and the sound is fine. The setup was simple, and even though I don't have HD on my satellite (will be getting it soon) the picture is fantastic. At this price, I would recommend to anyone.

Most of the trackers have an "I want one" link/button. I know wootalyzer does. wootalyzer also sings you a little song when the item changes, it's a complete page as well. My only issue with it is that it's popular which can mean lag times. Google "woot tracker" and try out a few different ones until you get to one you like. Don't be afraid to test the purchase links (you still have to click the stupidly large button to finalize your order). Good Luck!

It does have component, that's what the "YPbPr-to-D-Sub (VGA)" adapter/dongle is for (it's included). But that leaves you without VGA if you need that...

There are tons of things that use component. Namely the Wii, DVD players, tons of children game systems, my NES, and more. Saying it's dead is incorrect in large amounts. A TV not having them isn't proof, it's just a dumb move on the manufacturer's part.

We have this TV, we bought it in the Xmas sales.
It's a great TV. Nice, clear. Never a problem. And to make sure, I put a Squaretrade Extended warranty on it. If it breaks and they can't fix it. I get my full purchase price back.

Chocolate. YUM
Bacon. YUM

Don't mix them - each is perfect by itself.

Did I miss the bag? I don't think so but I'm on the West coast so I don't know what went on this morning before I got to work.

Re: quality of Westinghouse. I bought one via Woot (a 46-inch refurb) and after roughly a thousand hours (2 hours/day/1.5 years), it died. Took it to a service center, who said it was the LCD panel. Absolutely not worth repairing. And I was never able to get any response out of Westinghouse. They made it impossible to contact them by phone, and they never replied to email. Caveat emptor.

Blame the FCC, not the manufacure they want digital only. First to go was S-video, now component the only analog input that will survive will be composite video

I watched a side-by-side motion blur demo with 60Hz, 120Hz, and 240Hz televisions. The difference in the blur was extremely noticeable. I don't think I'd be willing to spend money on a 120Hz television. In fact, the blur even at 240Hz was still so noticeable to both my wife and myself that we ended up purchasing a plasma set instead.

I bought one of these here a couple of weeks ago. The picture is great, but I don't understand why they even bothered putting the speakers in it. The sound is terrible. Not a real issue for me I picked up a sound bar to go with it, but yes the sound from these is as bad as you've heard.

I've owned a Westinghouse for 4 years now - an older model 42" that I paid $1000 for.

I've been completely happy with the purchase, the picture is great and I've had no problems.

I was skeptical of the brand at the time, but I'd buy another one with no reserves.

I have a 5 year old 42" LCD Westinghouse 720p. This past christmas i bought a 50" 1080p LED Bravia. after a week of use, we went back to the 42" and took the bravia back. I know Westinghouse is a more generic brand name, they make pretty decent TV's (unless you get one of those black friday specials)

Rumor has it that failed transactions, canceled (buyers remorse) purchases, and the like can cause the bar to go backwards.
