The Verizon FIOS routers do not support N. At least not the ones that were installed last year. Not sure if they came out with anything new.

Although you could hook up a wireless N router to the FIOS router, but administration could get tricky. I've never tried.

A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist. ~~Franklin P. Jones

Question: If I'm at work where I don't have wi-fi, can I plug this into my work computer which has an ethernet connection and then use a wi-fi device off that connection? (ie: ipad)?

Can't imagine it could be worse looking then whatever device you would use this with that doesn't already have wi-fi built in...

Anyone know if this will work without requiring you to install some sort of SMC client? I hate wireless adapters that do that. Yeah, I'm looking at you Netgear.

No, it only receives signal. It does not broadcast it.

I bought one when it was featured in the non-off woot. My purchase decision was based upon it being compatible with WDTV Live.

I bought this in a pack with an SMC router a couple months ago. Took me a while, like until 5 days ago, to get around to converting my old G router to a wireless bridge for our low-speed devices, and to set up the new SMC N router. But both the router and the dongle have been easy to set up and use, once I decided to actually do it.

In for two -- too many old laptops in this house that could could use a faster wifi.
