I bet the staff at woot has a drinking game - anytime someone mentions a Big o' Cosmos during a woot-off, take a shot.

They wouldn't make it past the 2nd item.

Alrighty then - at this pace this should take us past the 5:00 hour out east here so coming up: Big o' Cosmos for the rest of the country NOT sitting in rush hour traffic.

TiVo doesn't run Windows (it uses Linux) so I'm guessing not a lone donut's chance in a police station that it would work.

Edit: apparently this device DOES work under Linux, but it's still no guarantee it works on a TiVo. I don't know if the TiVo runs a new enough Linux kernel.

I got one last week when it was the woot of the day. Just got it and hooked it up yesterday. Good product for the price. It's much bigger than your standard thumb drive though.

I had to go out and buy some Wireless USB adapters for my computers when I moved them away from the modem. Sad day.

No. Wish you and I could do that. You'd still need a wireless router.

Maybe the series 1 or 2, but not 3 and premier. They made them so they only work with Tivo wireless adapters.

On the other hand, there's me who lives about an hour from Woot who got her camera very shortly after it shipped. What kills me is I didn't get the blasted EMAIL saying it had shipped until two days after it arrived. As we don't use our front door, it sat on the porch the entire time.

Woot, all I'm asking is for you to delay the Bandolier for another 2.5 hours. I will be home from work by then and I'll have my nice broadband internet connection. Maybe I still won't get through, but I will at least have a chance. If you do the Big o' Cosmos before then, I will be forced to use the computer in the break room at work with the crappy internet connection. And another Random Crap will have slipped past my defenses.

A Tivo series 1 or 2 maybe. Not series 3 or premier. As far as Xbox, I haven't heard good things about trying non-Xbox branded wireless adapters but someone here may tell you otherwise or have a better suggestion. As far as the blu-ray it really depends on the model. Some will only work with specific ones or ones specifically made for that blu-ray player.

Look for a wireless bridge or repeater with built in switch. Another option is a WiFi router that will work with DD-WRT. If you're good, you should be able to find one for under $50. You'd then run ethernet within your entertainment center, connecting everything to your new repeater (and then have the repeater connect to your wireless network).

I've got an Asus RT-N10 acting as a repeater, and it does a nice job. I think I paid $20 for it.

Remember folks, this is USB (hopefully 2.0) so the MOST you'll get is 10mbps throughput, as you are capped by USB speed. Realistically, you'll get less speed than that. So don't think this is going to give you even the 54mps that a regular Wireless G connection from built-in wireless will get you. You are probably not going to stream HD video with this thing.

The pair I ordered last week showed up yesterday. Only plugged it in for a few minutes. Connected at 130Mbps, not sure if that is due to the USB port of the router, but a nice upgrade from the built-in 54Mbps g card.

It did get pretty warm. Wouldn't make plans to celebrate it's birthday if you use it everyday...

I am not too tech savvy, so this might sound like adumb question. My son wants to connect his DS Lite to the internet, but our system is WPA and the DS ony supports WEP. Would this device help so that I wouldn't have to change my wireless router to WEP and his DS would still work??
