No no..a pet rake...

for lack of a better name (that I know of). It has two rows of hard metal bristles that work great when we bathe her.

The PetZoom works well during the winter just to keep her groomed and Furminator when she's shedding.

They "self clean" by pushing all the fur (or wool) off with a plastic piece that is below the bristles when you press the button (no "sucking" at all). It just makes it easy to get all that fur that gets stuck around the bristles and are hard to remove.

I, too, have a skittish rescue and treat conditioning does not work on her. She is a super smart Aussie mix, and if she's scared, she won't give a treat a second look. Sometimes I wish she weren't so dang intelligent, as it would make tricks like this work on her...but I love her anyway! =)

This correlates with what I said earlier about using this on our husky. To make a car analogy here, I look at the rake or Furminator as the wash, using the PetZoom is the wax. It picks up the stragglers...aka the clumps that are a little loose after brushing...better than you'd expect.

One other thing to mention about the wire one - you have to be careful when storing it. If one of the wires bends you'll have a helluva time bending it back so the eject mechanism works right.

All my quality posts have been about vacuums...does that mean I suck?

Lol! Ours tend "walk" too, although I think one of my cats hides them. The other cat adores it - even rubs her head on it and meows for us to use it on her... So I'm in for 3. Backups are a good idea.

This is my first time posting here and it is off topic for the grooming brush, but I wasn't sure to where on WOOT to post this.

Has anyone here had a problem with deliveries from FedEx Smartpost? I ordered and item 11 days ago and I am still waiting for it. I realize that the shipping cost here is cheaper than many other sites, but for an item to take over 11 days to come from Texas to New Jersey is ridiculous these days. I could have driven there and back to get it!

I know that I am anxious to receive my first Woot item, but it seems to me that Woot could have sent the item regular USPS and I would have received it days ago. Grant it, it may have cost more, but had I needed this item within a specific time frame the added cost would have been worth it.

Are there any others out there that wish there was a choice of shipping methods when checking out? I did a Google search of FedEx Smartpost and literally found THOUSANDS of complaints on at least 20 different websites! The top to complaints have to do with SLOW SHIPPING and LOST PACKAGES! Anyway just venting....

I've gotten NUMEROUS things from woot! Most shipped with "smart" post. To this date, I've always gotten everything. Yes, it's slow. But, I've always gotten my stuff.

Could be worse, in the past, tracking wasn't provided until AFTER the item showed up. At least, we get the tracking soon.

Oh, I'm in for 3 of these. Only have 2 cats, but my brother has 2 dogs and a long-hair cat. And, here in Az, shedding season's right around the corner.

If you ordered the day that you joined then those 11 calendar days is actually 7 business days. Any Woot I've ever gotten doesn't even leave Texas for 5 business days. Have you gotten a tracking number yet? And there's a reason the SmartPost logo is a snail...

chaospearl wrote:I want to know who is using these things successfully on double coated dogs. I have a Samoyed and I send her to a professional twice a year for grooming because she hates to be combed. I've tried everything from Furminator to regular plastic combs and she just won't tolerate having her fur pulled and tugged. I can't blame her, when I was a kid my mom used to yank out the snarls in my butt length hair and I'd cry too. My dog will sit there long enough for me to detangle and smooth her on a regular basis, but during spring coat blow, forget it, I'd be grooming her an hour a day and we'd both hate our lives. This is a dog who can easily produce two full trash bags of fur every season.

I do.

You're grooming totally wrong. Have your groomer give you a lesson or step up the brushing to a daily until you get your act together.

How do you track by ref?

bsmith1

quality posts: 73 Private Messages bsmith1
mg578 wrote:How do you track by ref?

Go to Your Account then click on the item's link on the left-hand side of the screen. Then click the "click here to view your receipt" link. On your receipt page, you should see the order #. (like ORDER 12345678)

Highlight and copy (or write down) that order # then go to the FedEx Track by Reference page. Leave the Account no field blank and paste (or type) your order # in the reference field. Leave the ship date as today's date. Select United States from the country field and, finally, type your zip code in the postal code field. Then click Track. You should see your status if it's in there. You should also see the actual tracking number at that point.

This usually works for woot stuff, but not always. Also, you still have to wait a bit until woot sends Fedex the electronic shipping info for this method to work. When it does work, it usually works well before you get tracking info from woot.

Thanks for this info. I haven't got an email either, my order status just says my order is in and when I tried to track it, it's not showing up in the Fedex system. I've been a member for ages, but this is only my second woot and I had no problems with the first. Should I give it a bit longer, or should I send an email about it?

Hey bsmith, very helpful info. Thanks. Have bought a bunch of things from Woot and Sellout Woot in the past, but never failed to get a follow-up shipping notice until now. I tried your method, and there it is.

If somebody from Woot is reading this, you've got a glitch in your notification system you might want to look into.

I traded a couple of emails with service@woot, and just today I got the ship notice email -- the package had evidently been given to FedEx on 3/18, today is 3/22.

Maybe Woot is still digging out from under the pile of orders from the last woot-off, or maybe they've got some IT problems. Still, it would be nice to get an order acknowledgment email and a ship notice email as they provided in the past. Using track by reference at FedEx worked for me, but that's pathetic.
