WARNING WARNING DANGER DANGER WARNING WARNING

The sole bad experience I ever had with WOOT was the memory foam mattress disaster. Mine stunk to high heaven and never expanded and remained a flat rock. WOOT and the VENDOR pointed fingers at each other and never did resolve the issuer.

I'D STEER CLEAR.

The mattress is unsuable.

WOOT will take your money and blame the manufacturer.

The manufacturer doesn't care if the crap they dump on woot is defective or not.

COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSS OF $200 (+5 shipping).

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

And that ain't all. Somehow, the exact same mattress can be both a queen and king size on moofi.

I mean, thanks, but how is this possible???

Were you seriously asking? Okay, assuming so...

My guess is this weighs at least 80 lbs, possibly 100, so it's probably costs woot at *least* $25 to ship it (much less than an individual would pay).

They do it the same way anybody else does it when offering "free" shipping. Bury the cost in the item. Nobody's losing money on these things (at least, not as a general rule).

got one of these last year from Woot for my son. At first he thought it was ok, but then had trouble sleeping on it and we had to get him a regular mattress. I brought it home and tried it myself -- bad news. Unlike some memory foam beds, on this one you evenutally sink in to the point that you are uncomfortable, and it becomes very difficult to turn over. We threw it away -- complete waste of money.

My wife and I have been looking for a queen size mattress for a family cabin in the mountains. We probably would use it every other weekend at most. We're on a budget, and this looked attractive. However, there are a LOT of folks that indicated this mattress was 6 months and done item. From those folks - do you think the mattress would have lasted much longer with less use, or was it just a case of the mattress breaking down regardless of someone sleeping on it? Thanks!

Can any one compare the mattress offered at moofi with the one at woot! The Cool Wave looks a desirable feature. When I Google the Cool Wave with the model number (1622142), I get hits on a Sarah Peyton mattress. The woot! model number (103Queen) doesn't lead anywhere. Any comments on the Sarah Peyton matress, and/or if the woofi offer is in fact a Sarah Peyton? Thanks!

That Moofi site is a poor knockoff of Woot!. They don't even spell deal correctly and hope we won't notice just because it is upside-down and backwards! "One day, One dael"

I just threw out one of these I've had for a little over a year. It started out comfortable for me and my wife but steadily got less soft and more hard.

Also if two people sleep on this you will each end up in your own "hole" making it really hard to cuddle.

I went back to a nice innerspring mattress and it is much more comfortable.

Almost certainly nominated for something... somewhere.

Ummm, its not a knockoff.... It is Woot and I think you just hurt its feelings.

It's bad enough that nobody knows what it is and then you go and say things like that. Moofi has feelings too!

If you haven't slept on a memory foam mattress, try before you buy. So many people have them now, even in spare bedrooms, that you can probably weasel your way into a 8th grade style sleepover.

The reason I say that? Well, one of my biggest issues w/ the memory foam is that when you and your lady friend are, uhhh, busy and you happen to be in some position that resembles a push-up, the bed keeps giving and giving and giving, forcing your hands wider and wider from where they were. So as you're mambo'ing around you have to keep adjusting.

That doesn't even take into account that springs are good for rhythm, and memory foam is designed to dampen everything... EVERYTHING.

Buyer beware.

moofi is spin-off, not a knockoff. And it's just upside down, not upside down and backwards. Well.. I mean except for the "ae" in deal, but I'm pretty sure that was an accident that never got fixed.

Fun chat, but my question was about the deals, not the sites :} Thanks still!

Not sure how people can tell what brand it is. It isn't the Sarah Peyton Cool Wave ones that Woot has sold in the past.

There are varying qualities of memory foam, and in general you get what you pay for. I bought a Tempurpedic mattress (just the mattress, not the whole bed system which is unnecessary) over eight years ago and it is still just like I bought it - no sagging at all. Only complaint is that it gets a little warm in the summer, especially if I go to the gym late and don't have a lot of time to cool down. But that's probably because I don't have air conditioning in this house because it is near the ocean in SoCal. When I lived in Wisconsin and had air conditioning I don't recall it being an issue at all.

So I'd say Tempurpedic is worth the money, but the more research I do on the cheaper memory foam brands the more it seems like they just don't last. If you read the reviews on Overstock or Amazon you can get a good feel for how good the product is.

Well, I did not write the message, but I will guess that the writer refers to the suggestion by some people in the autism-Asperger's spectrum - notably, Temple Grandin - that being surrounded by light pressure is comforting and calming. Presumably, the writer suggests that bunches of pillows offer fully adjustable light pressure on all sides as you place and tuck them, rather than just the comparatively light weight of a blanket on at least three sides.

My post just above refers to LastApeMan message on pg 3 asking W00terfu1 why the PS reference to trying bunches of pillows instead of a mattress for Asperger's people.

My husband and I have had a king Tempurpedic mattress for the last 3-4 years. It was several times the cost of this mattress. However, we haven't had any issues with it. It eases our back problems, there hasn't been any sinking, it doesn't stink.

Don't skimp on cost for a bed. If you can only afford $250 for a bed, go for a really good spring mattress. Go to a local mattress retailer and have them give you a good deal. Memory foam mattresses are really expensive, and you get what you pay for.

Spending until it hurts on a good bed is really worth it. I still have the queen bed I bought 12 years ago. We use it as a guest bed, and it's still incredibly comfortable. The cost might hurt now, but it's an investment that lasts a long time the more you spend on it.

Tempurpedic matresses are the same thing. They only have 2 to 4 inches of tempurpedic material (depending on if you spend the $3000 or $6000) andt he rest is called "airflow system" which is just foam.

Just wanted to say that when reading or writing reviews, it's important to know whether the OP is male or female, since our requirements are very different with different body shapes.

I am very curvey, and I need something really soft so that my shoulder and hip on my side can sink into it, for example; then the middle part sticks up and supports my waist. A man with a very straight line from shoulder to hip may want a firmer mattress.

I've slept on a soft foam mattress for the last few years, and it's been the best! It's getting flattened now, though, and I slept on a 3" memory foam mattress at my friend's house that was very comfortable, so I might get a foam topper for this one.

tl;dr It's not for everybody, so consider your own body shape when you read reviews. Also, OPs should post their gender and probably weight.

I was just kidding around when I called it a knockoff. Obviously it is an extension off Woot itself, wherein Woot was trying yet another way to sell multiple items in one day without looking like they are selling more than one item in one day.

I should also note that my original post was not in response to yours, as you so arrogantly assumed. You can see that they both have the same time stamp, so the fact that we we both made a mention of Moofi was merely a coincidence.

I bought the last queen size memory foam mattress they had on woot for $300 with no pillows! Should have waited! Anyways, the mattress we bought was the best mattress we've ever owned! I've slept on a genuine tempur-pedic and feel as though the mattress I got from woot was every bit as good!

mbarta3

I have a queen size with 8lb density foam and a feather topper on top. I never get hot (though that may be because of the feather topper) and sleep like a log every night! I have heard that the lower density versions are a bit softer, but are not as good for a bad back. Wouldn't know because I don't have a bad back, but I do love my bed much better than my old spring mattress, so I would recommend it for that reason alone.

Oh, and I set it on top of a box spring because I don't like my bed being so low to the ground, but the box spring doesn't actually serve a purpose anymore...
