Props to you for taking all the ribbing in good humor. I actually thought that you were joking because a mattresses main description generally describes its thickness and not width/length. That Wiki link "years of education" comment was obviously in jest and had me chuckling.

When I switched from a waterbed to regular mattress, I found that I had to use a California King mattress as the frame is about a bit longer than a regular mattress. I would strongly suggest measuring your frame.

Does anyone know if these mattresses run hot? I have a foam topper. It's comfortable but it's so hot it's ridiculous!

Oh, and BTW, these are so not puppy proof. My dog has mutilated mine through the sheets.

If my husband is a bit on the larger size and I'm a petite type, will I have have a tendency of "rolling downhill" so to speak with this? Or will the weight difference not be that noticeable on here?

I bought the full size memory foam mattress on sellout woot with pillow top 7.5 foam, 2.5 memory foam, this looks to be the same, I love it, just let it air out for a few days, strong smell when you get it.

For 200 bucks who cares. Use your amex if you buy so you have return protection they will refund you the money, since woot wont do refunds amex will give u the money back if u arent happy, up to 300 bucks

Still I love it, for the price. Yes I kinda want the mattress that Bellagio is selling on their site custom for the hotel, buts its out of my price range.

when i had mine it was initially very hard, but after using it for a few days it got really soft. body heat tends to make these even softer so if u put off a lot of body heat be for warned u may sink in faster than u like.

i really wanted to like mine when i originally had it but the dip by my waist never came back fully and so i went with the spa sensation, this one is awesome as its not firm or soft as its just right for my liking and its not hot or anything.

I have mine in a queen size waterbed frame and it's okay with two minor annoyances.

First, the padded rails are a real tight fit because of the mattress height.

Second, since it's quite a bit lighter than a waterbed mattress, the whole frame has a tendency to shift. This might depend on what kind of frame you have...mine's a pedestal bed that sits on top of a support base.

Other than that, it works just fine

When I had mine, me and wifey had no problem sleeping next to eachother with no downhill effect. i weighed 340lbs when i owned mine and misses was about 120....dont tell her i told ya, lol. i sm now 300 and shes still 120 and no issues with our new one either.

i think the biggest concern would be what type of base and the density of that base which would determine if the mattress can support you and your husband or not. most cases u want a 4-5 lbs base and if i remmeber right this was a 4.5 lbs base so you are good to go

jasonf1984 wrote:I bought one of theses on a prior woot it didn't come with pillows, but if this is the same mattress it is cool as in not hot and has stood up well with no decrease in quality in the 6 months or so I have had it.

So I'll offer the differing opinon tonight.

I also purchased a foam mattress off woot about a year ago, that was also 10". It did not come with pillows.

For the first 3 to 4 months, it was fine. It was not too hot, easy to get and off of, and seemed like a good upgrade from the name brand spring mattress I replaced. Then things changed for the worse. Over time, the mattress began to loose it's shape (picture smushing a marshmallow with your thumb). It also did not maintain it's firmness, and laying on the mattress would sink you right to the boxspring below. After 6 months time, it became unsleepable. Like lying on a board, and the foam encased your outline. Horrible.

I will not lie. I'm not a tiny guy. 6'1" and 285lbs. If you are of comparable size, I reccommend steering clear of these low cost mattresses. You get what you pay for.

Since I did very much enjoy the first few months, I decided to do some actual research this time and find a mattress that would be better suited to me. Sorry Woot, my first impulse buy from you that let a sour note.

I HIGHLY reccommned http://www.sleeplikethedead.com/ for reviews on all types of mattress. I wound up making my informed descion from their data, and am now a very, very happy owner of an American made Isoform, which was still 1000 dollars cheaper then the Tempur-pedic compairitive model.

Happy to answer any questions on the past woot, I'd hate to have someone end up like I did.

Had to do it. I own 2 queen mem foams in the house that are over 10 years old. They are past their prime and I've just been too cheap to replace them. Well today is the day. And I like them firm. The Amazon reviews mainly complain about smell and firmness. The smell does go away. I'll air it out and I welcome the firm mattress sleep I once had.

Thanks woot. You just made the wife and I pretty happy.

glad to know someone else had the same problem as me, except mine didnt last as long before the dips never regained its shape. the mattress u purchased seems to be a solid one, although for the price im glad i went with the spa sensation theratouch. comparing apples to apples, they both get the job done just at different price points

I had the ventilation system memory foam mattress and found that I liked it when sleeping alone. When the boyfriend was there, I slept in his crevice (really uncomfortable). We replaced it with a memory foam mattress minus the ventilation system a few months later and are much happier.

I believe it was the cool sensation model. (Which I cut up and use for cushions on my deckchairs now, ha!)

From the "research" I did though, it's not the top layers that led to the problem. The base was of a low, inferior density foam, which just did not stand up to use. For someone my size, it was reccommended a density of 5.0lbs/ft. I would be hesitant to buy any mattress, of any brand, without that density for it's base.

Zake202

quality posts: 0 Private Messages Zake202

I had considered this the last time it was up, though I think it was more?

I ended up with a 2.5" mattress topper with 4lb density and it actually works very well.

It was at Sam's Club for $100. (though I think Costco had something similar also?

Just a heads up if you want to try memory foam but don't want to go all out on a mattress. Most of them require a hard wood surface also.

dont argue with it, just accept that it is what it is. not to mention that this ships in a vacuum sealed bag about the size of 36x36 box so while its bulky its not as big as u think in its vacuum shape

Generally no. Only shirt.woot.com ships outside the 48 contiguous states.

HOWEVER, I know it's different for military addresses but I don't know the ins and outs. Your best bet is to email service@woot.com and ask them about your specific address. They'll be able to pop you an answer tomorrow.

Sorry I don't have an firm answer for you. =\
