If you read the sentences that preceded the 'fragment' that you posted you would see the following:

Collection and Use of Non-Personal Information

We also collect non-personal information − data in a form that does not permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are some examples of non-personal information that we collect and how we may use it:

  • We may collect information such as occupation, language, zip code, ...

So yes they collect information about WHERE, WHEN of the device but they don't keep that information connected to WHO used.

Unfortunately, this is not that much cheaper than a new one... About $25.00 more gets you new.

I ordered this as my original iPod Touch is getting near the end of its days... and then I realized if I hadn't bought this and the Kindle I bought two months ago, I'd be 3/4th of the way to an iPad.

The Google Voice app is really nice as well as you get a real phone number with it for free.

Buy something you can't use at work. Use it in the car or at home. What's the big deal?

We did this exact thing with our 9 year old and she is using Google Voice. We like it much better than text-free, which we tried before switching to Google.

@mdnorman - Quite simply put, no. It won't do anything that you can't already do on an iPhone, and because you have to be at a wi-fi hotspot, it's not as versatile when it comes to the Web. (iPhone gets its constant web-browsing capability because it is a cellphone. 'Course, thank goodness, there are still places on earth where neither will work on the Web._

stolly23 wrote:Not totally ridiculous. I have an 80gb zune and have over 7500 songs on it. My whole collection is on there so I don't ever have to sync everytime my music mood changes. This is one thing that has actually held me back from getting an itouch or zuneHD. They don't come big enough for me to hold my music and movies.

I'm sure that you would agree with my wife by asking what do you need that much music for? I love all genre's of music and have most of them well represented. I just synched some more to my zune yesterday and saw that I have now played over 90,000 songs so far with my zune. So I would say that there is a very good chance that everysong has been listened to at least one.

So for some an 8gb would not work if it is to be the main music player. For my wife, her 8gb touch is enough because she still uses her zune as her music player.

Just my thought

This man speaks the truth...

I have an 80gb Ipod classic and it's filled to the brim with over 5000 songs, and about 9 seasons worth of TV shows...

I had a 8gb Iphone and hated not being able to put all my favorite music on there. Upgraded to a 16gb and now I'm quite happy.

8gb is not enough for me. Simple as that.

My son lost a channel on his jack (2nd/3rd gen 8GB). The local Apple store replaced it for free.

I have an 8gb iPhone and you know what? I listen to over 5TB of music (that's roughly 5,000 gb), videos, and pictures. Just use an app like dropbox or orb live. With the right app and a wifi connection you have unlimited storage space.

Don't thank me, thank the cloud.

all though i didn't get my 8gig iTouch from woot, i've come to regard it as preferred device among the slew of pocket necessities.

the capacity is the one aspect i wish i could upgrade. i've devoted 7gigs on mine to my favorite albums and after a month those tracks are getting a bit stale. be ready to download the iTunes media player if you don't all ready have it and import all of you music! i still prefer the zune player, and zune mp3 players categorize your music better in my opinion, but the resolving factor lies in the slew of other capabilities found in the iTouch.

the best part of this iTouch is the internal wifi adapter. the only time i'm not in range of a wifi signal is when i'm on the go. otherwise, at work, on campus, at home, i've got access to the internet and all streaming applications.

personally my top apps include Hulu Plus for watching my favorite tv shows(requires monthly subscription), aol's moviefone for movie trailers/info/listings (free!), apps for local bar specials and bus routes, just-light flashlight, a white noise app for helping me sleep, and of course angry birds for when i dont want to pay attention in class.

overall this is the perfect device to complement having a non-smart phone like myself. be on the look out for deals on earphones, i find the apple ear buds have quite terrible quality. i bought some $8 earphones on woot a while ago which perform much better.

I've been looking at this iPod as an upgrade to a couple Zunes I've bought here, largely because the Microsoft interface / software just doesn't cut it. We also have plenty of vids that could use a tablet.

However, I'm still waiting 2 months + for $40 in rebates from Woot (since Jan 5th.)

I *knew* Woot was going down the wrong path with rebate products, like a Best Buy box store. Now, I can't / won't buy something else from Woot until they get this straightened out. Shame on Woot!

Heya and welcome to woot!

Items are generally shipped out within five business days (today is only the third business day since the day of sale). After shipping out, it can take... between a week to two weeks to receive an item? It depends on where in the U.S. you live and how SmartPost decides to smartly go about getting that package to you.

I rose in rainy autumn and walked abroad in a shower of all my days.

So this was my first ever Woot! I actually opted for the 32 gig deal from sellout.woot, but still my first purchase. I have been a member for a few weeks and have been monitoring deals for over a year. I have been close to buying some of the TVs, but my fiancee and I are saving for our wedding.

I am really excited to get my Ipod touch. I think $235 was a really solid price for the 32gig current gen. I am really glad this gen got a camera. It just so happened that my Ipod broke this week, so this deal was meant to be!

Probably not.

"Your order will typically ship within 5 business days."

I'm not sure if that includes the day it was purchased. If not, looks like it will ship Monday.

Hope it doesn't take as long to get here. Mine was meant for a gift next weekend..I honestly didn't figure they would take the whole five days to just ship it...oh well.

I was kinda hoping for the 2-3 day mark... tey should change it to "your order will be shipped a full business week following completion of your order". Then I wouldn't have ordered it.

Im leaving on a trip Tuesday, and i thought for sure they'd ship it BEFORE the 5 day mark, I shouldve just ordered through Amazon, $20 more and brand new, and also they ship SO fast, in about 2 days to your door.

Oh well, lesson learned.

Yes, 5 business days, not counting the day of the sale. Nothing happens on processing until the sale has closed and the poor weary people in customer service get a chance to handle all the panic cancellation and "I MEANT TO ORDER 3!" emails. They post shipping updates in the threads first thing in the morning so look here Tuesday morning.

It lookes like they, well at least mine, shipped out on the 24th.

I did not get a shipping email though. Per ThunderThighs instructions:

Two things you can check anytime for your order shipment status:

1. Click on My Account above. Click on the order in question and see if there is a tracking number shown on the next page.

2. Use FedEx's Track by Reference Feature. Leave the account no. blank. Enter your order number as the reference (2nd box), destination country and zipcode. Click Track.

NOTE: To get your order number: Check on My Account. Click on the order in question and then click on the link to view your receipt. Your order number will be on the receipt.
