idk if its just me...but i had the sticky for the directions on how to install tnt lite 4.4 open since last night, so even though xda is down i still have acess to that full page. i can paste the directions on here or w/e if anyone needs it and roebeets cool with it. its got the links and everything to go download the files needed.

I've been blessed that things have worked out OK so far, but here's a few things that may help some folks with their questions.

The ViewSonic gTablet arrived but I charged it until the red charging indicator turned green 3 hours later for a full charge before powering up.

After powering up with the parrots screen & white background but eventually getting the classic mode leaves dropping in water live wallpaper, settings showed it had the same firmware build Tap UI Version as others with 1.1-3389.

Powered down & installed a 16GB microSD card. After booting up gtablet, went into settings' external storage, mounted the card, then formatted it which then showed the full card as available free storage.

Turned on wireless networking in settings. Tested the web browser going to Google. When message popped up about an available firmware update, I downloaded it which took 30 minutes over my 768Kbps DSL download speed. Upon completion, I selected the to reboot on the pop up message to install the update right away which took a few minutes or just a little bit longer than a usual avg. boot.

Went into settings to confirm the new firmware install is now 1.1-3588.

Hope all wooters' tablets work out well for everyone.

I'm A-OK with it - just keep in mind that I update them from time to time (although I dont plan to anytime soon, unless I have to) and if XDA is down, I won't be able to, anyway.

If XDA keeps going down, I might take my instructions over to Slatedroid, as a backup.

OK I just kept stopping and starting the GTab. First It stuck on the gtablet screen, then it stuck on a white screen then it started to set up and stalled once more, started set up and stalled again, finally I was able to walk through all 4 set up steps and it currently is downloading the OTA update.

Excited after playing with my coworkers tablet at work all day I finally got home to mine.

First thing I notice the protective sleeve it came in was wrinkled past new, finger prints and smudges all down the sides of the screen and two scratches. What kills it for me the most are two dead pixels that stand out like a sore thumb.

I'm kind of let down and now feeling some buyers remorse because I feel like this isn't new. Should I contact Woot via email or do they have a phone number (which I think they don't supply from what I've read).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I found the email to get an RMA...email sent. Now I'm worried that I might get stuck with the tablet or just have to return it for a refund as there might not be any left for replacement.

Anyone in Southern Cal get their's yet. My FexEx tracking changed to show it arriving Tomorrow instead of today. :0(

Engadget updated the article to say it disappeared from BestBuy's site.

Here's why I have no buyer's remorse: the Asus will have 2 USB ports, OK, but they're on the dock, not the tablet. And there's no SD card slot on the tablet itself, either. Those are both important to me. And the G tablet's hardware is Honeycomb-capable, so we will get Honeycomb eventually (thanks, XDA!).

Besides, I wouldn't want to miss the fun of modding it. That's part of the reason I wanted it!!! What can I say, I'm a newbie geek.

Finished downloading update in about 10 minutes(NYC's roadrunner has a lot of people using it at this time). I'm going to see what the 3588 is like before I try to mod it. I'll be following everyone else's adventures, so I'll know what to expect.

By the way I've been using a Pandigital Novel, so this screen is a big improvement for me. I'm keeping the PDN to use on the subway. I won't be using the GTab in NYC's subway...too crowded for that.

Had mine since Tuesday, but am 20 miles west of the Irving hub where they drop off the pallets of stuff. Charged it here at work and checked out a few things on it then took it home and immediately installed clockworkmod and VEGAn-Tab 5.1 and did the apps store trick. Though I really don't know what the app store would look like if I had full access as this is my first Android device. Really simple install with no hangs and no hickups. Thank you GoJimi for the post with great instructions and to the whole VEGAn-Tab dev team.

And woot rocks. They sold 10K+ of these things and I got mine on the 4th business day after wooting. Caveat... dust speck under the touchscreen. I don't think its dead pixels as its is about 1mm long and about a hairs width on the screen about 1/2" in from the left edge, about 1" up from horizontal center line. Anyone else have this?

Been waiting and watching my tracking number all day. Now at 7pm they change my delivery status to "Delivery Exception". A phone call later it turns out the driver decided to skip the end of his route delaying my order...

Got mine around 3:30 today in central FL. Took a little over 3 hours to charge. Everything was brand new, packaged new, etc. But there were finger prints on the screen, and browser history for some Youtube stuff. Angry Birds doesn't work. Updating to 3588 right now.

My unit arrived today with a dead pixel. I emailed woot about this issue. Anyone else have one on their screen? I hope they exchange it quickly.

Just need to vent about good old FedEx. My delivery has been scheduled for the 31st from the start. Oddly though by the end of the day on the 29th my package was at the local FedEx which is also a hub. Great maybe I'll get it a day early huh?

Nope. I check on the 30th to see my package has left the local hub and gone 100 miles north to another FedEx. But I didn't loose hope, whine, or call FedEx to see what was going on since my original delivery date was the 31st.

So I check this morning and sure enough my package is back at the local hub again and out for delivery. So I wait, and wait, and wait but nothing. By 6 I'm worried and check the status online. In nice big red letters "DELIVERY EXCEPTION". I'm thinking We, the Hitchhikers? Then I see it, "deliivery attempted, 10:38am, no one home". Are you f'ing kidding me? I've been here all day. My dogs, who go crazy if the wind blows have been here, have been here.

I call FedEx. I can't pick the package up today. They canMt contact the driver who's still out to redeliver. The earliest I can get it is tomorrow. I work tomorrow so I won't be here. FedEx tells me to sign my nonexistant doortag. I'm livid. I hate FedEx.

I posted a few posts up not to long ago...mine has two dead pixels along with prints, smudges and scratches. I too have already emailed Woot. I hope the turn around is quick and painless.

I shipped by tablet to my job because I wasn't sure if a signature would be required. Appears Woot! shipped it via FedEx Home Delivery. Called FedEX to let them know it's a business not a house. It's scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Hopefully it will be delivered by 5PM before we close. I really want to mod it over the weekend!

Received mine today, big red line across the screen and in the downloaded apps section, there were some apps there including angry bird. This was packaged as new but seems to be refurbished. Sending back for replacement.

Well, I haven't modded yet. Not sure I'll need to.

After the automatic firmware update, I was able to get Angry Birds re-installed. I also have Google Voice running (no voice, just SMS), Shortyz, Andoku, Doodle Jump, Google Maps and Slacker.

I guess the "big" thing I'm missing is the Google Market but I'm OK without it for now.

If you want to put Angry Birds back on:
-click the App list (on the right, 12 little white squares between Mail and Settings)
-click on ES File Explorer
-Click "Master"
-Click Apps
-Click Angrybirds...

I'm a windows guy that also has an iPhone so I have a basic understanding of PC and Mac operations. I've been reading over the how to list to mod these machines and I think there is a hell of a lot more to this than simply downloading a few files and then installing them on the unit. Nothing EVER goes that smoothly and unless you are an IT guy, I'm betting we are going to see a bunch of post here over the next few days begging for help and crying about how people screwed up their new tablets.

FYI, I'm been taking guesses as to how the build was done, maybe a quick FAQ would help the users here. ie we know it's build 3389 and there's a "MASTER" folder with some apps, but a few users are having issues with AB being a black screen or the device rebooting and wiping out all the apps - maybe some instructions on how to re-do those apps would be helpful.

also, for the screen calibration issues and boot looping, any other suggestions other than what I suggested? Just curious - thanks! I'm assuming the recovery image being used is stock 3389?

4.3 has a sleep issue, I just released a 4.4. yesterday to correct that.
