I was playing when it was level 2, played to level 3, then got an error message instead of the score screen and no Big o' Cosmos. After that, all I got were server maintenance messages. Even winning the game on its own terms does not ensure a purchase.

April Fools joke's on me... curse you woot!

Fire the person who did the logic for "enemies" All to often they are unavoidable. That should never happen in a game of skill, just pisses people off.

Since it is April 1 all day, this game will go on all day. Therefore people can comment about their bad luck and how crappy this is all day.

I hope this is a joke otherwise it is just bad code I got to level 5 in space at 1am but when I did I got a error message. The only reason I lost was because 2 things came at once.Woot is turning into ATT they hate there costumers!

What sucks is that I got to Level 4 when the Big o' Cosmos was at Level 3 and it still didn't give it to me. It spat out some error right below my score. At that point I thought woot was screwing with us so I gave up.

So got to level 4 and died... again... now when I click the button "I want one" it goes directly to "beat level 7 and maybe you'll be worthy" message. Guess I ran out of tokens, and woot lost a customer.

After one solid year of trying for the Big Orphaned Cetacea.

Finally got one.

I woke up this morning and saw that I had a text message. "Oh boy! A woot-off has started" I thought. I clicked my bookmark and saw the coveted Big o' Cosmos picture start to load. "!!!!!!!" I thought.

I ran to my computer only to find out I had to help a snail do his best Paperboy impression all the while avoiding screaming monkeys on motorcycles and overturned salt trucks.

It seemed like a very good metaphor for my life at the moment.

Kudos to you, Woot, and thank you for my first Big o' Cosmos!

Next time, how about just doing a lottery? I dont know how anyone is getting to level 7. I've been playing since 8 and get past level 4 without the game putting 2 obstacles in my way at the same time.

Totally agree with you. I was really excited when I saw this and thought, "WoW, woot finally found a way to beat the bots!" Too bad the game is so poorly written. It's completely luck based since you can have an enemy in both lanes at the exact same time, next to one another. From there, I'd like to argue, that this is also kind of messed up seeing as this means woot can actually predetermine which accounts are winners (just make their game winnable). I have no idea how this works at all... how do you even get to level 7 to get it?

Twice now I've hit every single package without a miss but die at level 4 (x32 and x38) with a double team takedown so apparently accuracy has absolutely nothing to do with winning.

5 hours with 3 hours of sleep in between and no Big o' Cosmos? That makes me a sad panda, who's late for work.

Ugh, I accidentally closed the game and now can't get back in.

I'm with you on this one. I've never got a Big Orphaned Cetacea, but my wife has been able to get 2 and she only has 3 purchases to her name.

So this is making it very hard to spend money.. Are you guys sure? Plus, how can I pause the game if my boss walks in?

I preferred the lottery one they did last year (buy some lights and some of the order #'s got a Big o' Cosmos) - at least I had a CHANCE with that one.

I'd even prefer the original Big o' Cosmos way over this -- at least it's over in 5 minutes.

This is a complete waste of time - it took me 15 minutes to confirm that the game just plain didn't work on Ubuntu (nice job, Woot - didn't test that?), and then another 15 to setup a Windows VM to play, and then after 2 levels I just gave up.

Seriously - this was (and is) a big mistake. You should just kill this now and be done with it, please.

I assume most Woot patrons visit the site from work (as do I). I can't spend 30 minutes playing a videogame at work, especially when there isn't a PAUSE button for when my boss walks into my office.

I hope the joke was worth it, because I imagine Woot is losing a lot of customers today.

Someone said you could get one per person per level? I got a level 6 but I can't get a level 7 Big Orphaned Cetacea. The game isn't that hard, just takes time. Good thing I have a lot of that to waste.

This game is impossible. Way too often, two enemies come at once and it's impossible to get past. How the hell did people get up to level 7?

At least they fixed the problem from last night, where some times it'd take up to a second to register button presses.

Start with Level 1 and play your way through it

According to the high scores WonderNerd high scored twice, so there may be a way to beat it.

I don't think it can be beat with skill using the <- -> and space keys. Maybe you can hack the page source but that too is a stretch.
