The Ninja is amazing. It shreds ice into a fine powdery perfection for snow cones or margaritas. Veggies quickly and finely diced for pizza, sauces, or to hide in pretty much anything. We use ours to grind meat for steakburgers. Also makes killer thick milkshakes using whipped cream instead of milk.

bluejester wrote:What's the life span of these in comparison to the Magic Bullet?

My Magic Bullet is going to last forever. That's because it sits safely in my cabinet hardly ever used. The only thing I pull it out for it to make a quick ham salad. For everything else, I now turn to the Ninja. Like the others have said, it chops ice evenly and without chunks, and because of the shape and design of the blades, it pulls the food away from the bottom and throws it back into the mix so it gets blended well. I need to just sell my Magic Bullet or give it away or something. It's worthless compared to the Ninja.

Bought one. Looks to be rather easy to store and not heavy like the food processor and blender that I just donated to Good Will - downsizing you know. This looks exactly like something I think I need and hope I will use. Otherwise, it, too, gets downsized.

Looks pretty damn slick though, going to have to have a chat with my wife about this one.

Not only does the Ninja master make you cook like fudging boss but, this bad boy comes with two, count them, TWO spoon straws!

Yes that's right, two spoon straws!

How many times have you been eating your soup when, boom, your arm gets tired and you wished you had brought that straw over because you *knew* you needed it but, noooooo... you didn't listen! Mom was right... you never listen... You thought going to art school was a great idea but look at you now... tired from a vigorous bout of soup eating and the nearest straw at least 50 feet away... I guess now you'll just have to starve...

Never worry about perilous straw-less situations again with the fabulous... SPOON STRAW!!!!

Quantum fork in the road, take both ways.

I bought the white one a while back and LOVE IT .. it makes awesome smoothies and chops veggies to oblivion. Very easy to clean if you rinse it off right away.

Not sure if I need another one but it's always good to have a few ninjas in the house, isn't it?

OK, ordered one. With two college students moving out of dorms and into houses this fall, I figure I'll pass down my food processor and blender and replace with Ninja. BTW, I gave a 25+ yr old blender to my eldest for her dorm; it made perfect slush Margaritas. I spent over $80 on a new "pro bar quality" blender, and it leaves chunks and liquid, NO slush! I'm expecting a lot out of this Ninja after all of your + reviews.

Useful....

Ordered. Even tho I have the blue one, this has more stuff.

The blue one rocks, turns ice to snow in seconds. We went through quite a few blenders that claimed to be great with ice and frozen fruit and they all sucked. The ninja completely dominates. We leave it on the counter. (I think) It is never there when I look.

Just place a drop of dish soap and some warm water in the bowl/pitcher, pulse a few times, and rinse. Works like a charm! I say surprise her with one, then impress her with your quick cleanup solution

I made a pesto with almonds with this. I didn't pre-chop or anything. I jus made sure to do pulsed chopping instead of just holding down the button. Worked great

Having owned the original blue Ninja sold through the infomercials for nearly a year, I can say with confidence that this thing is nuts. Two blades does, in fact, mean twice the chopping. Onion halves will become onion water in about 8-10 seconds. No exaggeration. Pulsing is a must.

From a power standpoint, it's got PLENTY. Ice or very hard foods don't stand a chance. Even after my year of ownership, I don't see this thing letting me down any time soon. Built well and is strong as an ox. Woot's pricing for this whole set is phenomenal too.

My only gripe is the claim that you don't have to stop chopping and stir the contents to ensure even chopping. While this maybe true if the container is only half full, this is not true if you stick a whole onion/tomato in there. The smallest container in the lot is pretty darn small. While it CAN fit a whole full-sized onion, it forces you to stop and mix manually before chopping more. I'd stick with very small amounts for that little container. I wish mine came with the middle sized one. :-(

promyst wrote:Looks like a lot of people like the Ninja more than the Magic Bullet

More opinions

I have a Magic Bullet and it's trash! It's precarious to put together, it's flimsy when it's put together, it's hard to clean: It has ribs inside the food prep bowl making it impossible to really get all of the food out, if it's chopped finely.

I can rant all day and not say enough about how "Magic" the Bullet is. . . I haven't tried this Ninja Master Prep gizmo, but it would be hard to be worse than a magic bullet.

I love my Ninja... but it only has 2 blades. How much more awesome will 3 blades be?

I think I need one for me. And one for a gift. And maybe another one for another gift.

Or I could keep all 3 so we could have smoothie races.
