Had two of these - never again! Plants looked cruddy, and tomatoes nowhere near as good as the ones in the raised beds directly adjacent. Plus after one season, they started to decompose...

Got one in my Big o' Cosmos...that's enough tomatoes for me

What are they attached to? Looks like they are just floating.

Yes, I've heard they work quite well with... ALL plants. Cough cough.

Amazon has it for $7.29 for one with free supersaver shipping. It averages three stars with 300 ratings. Based on the plethora of one and five-star reviews, it looks like you'll either love it or hate it.

I think these would be better suited for sale on moofi.

I bought a strawberry one and a tomato one at Fry's last year.

I followed all the instructions

I put 2 tomato plants in the tomato one, and about 25 in the strawberry one

I watered them as scheduled

I fed them plant food.

I got ONE strawberry out of those 25 plants, about the size of an M&M.

I got 2 tomatoes, each about the size of a golf ball before they went bad and moldy.

Which means that these things either suck, that my thumb is blacker than Flavor Flav's, or else someone was feeding the plants rat poison at night.

I'm going with a combination of the first 2, since these things are ass-ugly. They're essentially nothing but nylon sacks with a hole cut in the bottom.

But does it grow upside-down ketchup?

between the grow lights I bought during the woot-off, and the radiation from Japan, these are gonna be some BIG tomatoes

Meh...nothing special,same or even less yield with system.....move along people.

I'm in for the Twofer. My only complaint is that they dry out like no other. Handy if, like me, you're stuck in a cruddy apartment. I plant tomatoes in the bottom and strawberries on top.

Yes. If you do use it indoors, make sure to put something below it to catch the excess water/soil runoff. Also make sure it gets adequate sunlight.

So the hard part is deciding what type of tomato plant to buy...

My aunt bought some of these from an infomercial. They work, but they are quite fragile. She's had multiple break from just hanging there..... and indoors is not a good idea due to cleanup.

The astonishing truth is that plants want to grow right-side up. When you try to grow them upside down, they put all their strength into growing upwards. Who knew?

Costs more in the grocery stores and retail places. Lowest I've seen these for is about 10 to $15.

Yeah I was hoping to grow some umm... basil. I mean I got my heat lamp and my vacuum sealer from the Woot! Off so I should be set after this right?

Topsy Turvy from walgreens and walmart just terrible. Defiantly do not work well.

NightGhost got whitewashed with phosporous paint and is now a DaySaint. So say the rosary instead, and pray for a decent WOOT. I have these upside down planters and they SUCK. If DAYSAINT was here, he'd tell you to plant your tomatoes in a bed and get a decent yield. I think the roots COOK in these upside down planters.

It has a hanger. Just stick a nail in your patio overhang where you get the right amount of sunlight.
