chillipalmer wrote:Are they fully inserted into your ear for noise cancelling purposes? No. But they are still in ear headphones.

Basically three types.

In ears: small earbud style, some have further penetration usually for noise cancelling.

On ear: like the Bose or the Beats Solos that sit right on your ear.

Around or Over ear: fully go around the ear like QC and Beats Studios/Pros

Nice try, but no. Earbuds are not the same as in-ear. They're a totally different design. It doesn't seem like you understand how in-ear headphones work. They aren't sound "canceling" They are inserted into the ear canal and the purpose of the seal is for the bass response it provides. The sound "isolation" just happens to be a part of the design...which is nice.

I understand them perfectly. They are in ear. Earbuds go in your ear, they do not sit on your whole hear like on ear headphones do. They are not in ear monitors which combine increased bass with noise cancelling, they go hand in hand.

this is "on ear" not "in ear" as the ad suggests. To my knowledge, "in ear" phones penetrate the ear canal. This type (per the photo) wont stay on for me standing still, much less walking or jogging.

Got mine today. The sound is excellent, plenty of bass, BUT I have to hold them in my ear. They just won't stay in on their own. Guess my ears just aren't big enough. I also couldn't get the included foam covers on as they ripped with the slightest stretching. Oh well time for the next deal.

Same thing here with the foam pads. I ripped one in half as soon as I tried to put it on an earbud. Fortunately, I stocked up on foam earbud pads from the local DollarTree a few months back, five pairs in five colours for one dollar. I bought three packages. They went onto the Sennheisers without any tearing, plus I can tell which pair is which by the pad colour.

Listening to "Autumn Leaves" by Cannonball Adderley, via my Zune80, at the moment. Too soon to tell if I like these better than the Phillips earbuds I have been using, but Miles' muted trumpet sounds pretty sweet, right off the bat.

good sound for the price - HORRIBLE foam thing - I have four pairs and I gave up after 3 foams ripped trying to get them on. Must have been in a warehouse awhile. Luckily they still work and stay in without the crap foam cover

I ordered two 2 packs of these to replace the ones that I lost that went to my Sansa Clip that I bought from Woot.

The foam pads that came in a separate plastic bag literally disintegrated when I tried to put them on the buds. All four sets appeared to have just rotted in the bag. Totally unusable.

They still fit in the ear, but are bigger than the original ones that came with the Sansa - so are not as comfortable - especially without the foam pads.

I'll probably keep them, though it might be worth a note to Woot support to let them know that the foam pads are junk and unusable.

Also found the foam pads to tear with the slightest bit of stretching, no way to get them on the ear buds without tearing them to shreds.

Some of the foam things are miserable, but Sennheiser has pretty good customer service, have any of you tried writing them (here)? We do not seem to have more in stock to send replacements for.

I sneezed and they tore apart.

This sucks because I really like foam covers. They make it a better fit in my ear.

Someone said you can get a bag of them online somewhere? I guess I will Google...

The headphones are OK. I think I actually like my sansas better.

Yup. They said I could call their sales number and order a higher quality pair for $3 or the same thin ones for $.70. I'm guessing there's going to be shipping tacked on as well, so I didn't bother. I'll just pickup a pair of generics available locally for a buck or so.

If you feel like it, but these foam pads are everywhere for a buck, so I'm not going to make a federal case out of it. Just ask the powers to be to make the next Woot a couple of bucks cheaper.

Link?

I'm able to get 1 out of 4 pads to stay on and not shredded... but there's no use since the other one broke.

Has anyone had trouble with the covers? The covers that came in a separate baggie aren't made to go with the headphones.

The covers rip instantly. Woot said they tested some and same problem. They are working with co. to get us new ones. Said to watch here for updates. I just pulled gently on the 4th one after ripping the first 3 and it ripped with very little pressure. No way you could stretch them enough to get them on.

The foam things LITERALLY disintegrated in my hand; as in, they turned into powder. Both of them. Had to use ones that I already own. Besides that, no complaints, the sound is nice.

Hi all, we tested a large enough batch of these to realize the disintegration thing is happening with all the foam bits. Currently, we're working with the manufacturer who is completely behind us and will be helping us get some replacements. Since we sold so many, they do not have enough to send us from their US location(s) but will be shipping in some from Europe. I will be updating here as I hear more, but for now, please know we're working on getting replacements- we intend on replacing the foam bits on every set we've sold (and I'll be emailing en mass before they go out)- and as far as I'm aware, we've sent back our remaining stock so this won't be an issue for future sales.

I'm sorry that I have no timeline to offer for when we're meant to get the replacements in. You're welcome at any time to email in to check up, but I do promise to post in here whenever I hear some rumblings about the incoming foam.

Bought these last time and loved them. Those of you complaining about the sound, I really question. The sound is superior.

The foam pads are crap. I immediately had to go out and buy replacements at almost the cost of the earphones.

Glad to hear that WOOT is working on this. Very typical of them.

Earphones are large..17mm in diameter. They are hard to put in and are even harder to keep them in. If you try to put the foam covers on..beware that they are thin cheap covers and will tear very easily.
I knew not to expect much from these since the price was so low, but, come on, make the covers so they fit the earphones.

This is awesome customer service, but I think most people would appreciate an email from Woot stating that they should expect a set of replacement foam "bits". Even if you don't know when we will get them, it would help prevent people from going out and buying the foam themselves.

I'm having "buyers remorse" on these In-ear Headphones. They are extremely uncomfortable and the ear cushions both ripped as soon as I tried putting them on. I have only had them 2 weeks and can't wear them anymore.

I have owned other Sennheiser products before and these are the worst products, by far, that I have ever rec'd of theirs. Makes me wonder if they are even legitimately Sennheiser earphone?

Do yourself a favor and don't buy these, buy Woot's 'Bag O Crap' instead.

Y'all- it's taking me forever to refund everyone since I can only do 25 at a time. Please give me a while if you don't see the refunds in your account yet. This is the email everyone should have gotten, if you didn't, feel free to email in tomorrow and we'll make sure we caught your order.

After checking in several packs of the Sennheiser In-Ear Headphones - 2 Pack we realized that the massive amount of complaints we've had about the foam pads on these was completely and utterly the truth, these things we're crappier than our normal crap and, for that, we apologize. We talked to Sennheiser and worked things out so that we're able to refund you $5 for each pair of headphones you purchased which should help if you want to buy some replacements. We've seen a lot on our parent site, Amazon, which you can check out by clicking through on this rather lengthy URL:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_21?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=headphone+foam+covers&x=0&y=0&sprefix=headphone+foam+covers

We've refunded your order just this morning, so you should see the $5 per set in your statement within the next couple days if not sooner. Since we're sending back the rest of our stock to the manufacturer, we don't have any more in stock if you by any chance needed a replacement- but if you have any other questions or concerns, you're welcome to email back and we'll be happy to help as much as we can. Again, we're sorry for the issues on this item, we hope this makes things (mostly) right.

Sincerely,
Woot Member Services

You know a product is bad when you get a refund without even asking for it. Why to step-up Woot!!!! One more reason I've been a loyal follower for years.

Not that it matters, but these crappy headphones have one other major defect. Whenever I use them on my stationary bike, they deliver a static shock to my ears about every ten to fifteen seconds. Not good!

Holy crap! I open my PayPal today and get $10 from Woot! I usually just stock up on earbuds because I lose them faster than hookers in Vegas. Now I have four somewhat decent earbuds AND an extra ten bucks.

Thanks, Woot!

Wow. Thanks to Woot! for the credit back. Those foam covers were crap. They practically disintegrated when I removed them from the plastic bag they came in.
