Hi, happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.
Thanks for the nice comments on the deck, it is a lot of work, but I like doing that sort of thing. I want to finish the deck before the end of the month, I am going to the hospital on 30 May and having total knee replacement surgery on my left knee on the 31st. I was scheduled for the surgery last summer but 1 week before the date, I had a collapsed lung (third time) and had to have surgery for that! I have had terrible arthritis in both knees for years and I am looking forward to some pain relief finally. They don't like to do the surgery on someone so "young" but I managed to convince the doctor that the pain is ruining my life. Doing work around my house and building the deck will be much easier after the knee surgery If all goes well the right knee will get done next year. I am only 55 but sometimes I think my brain is 21 and my body is 80.

Is there a Mother's Day sometime in Poland?
Hi Poof, yes, they celebrate Mother's Day here on 26 May. Of course there is also Children's Day, Women's Day, Father's Day, etc. I don't think there is Men's Day.

Ice - how is pooch today?
DWAN - I found the exact broom your mom wants - would send it to you, but problem is a broken handle and the thing is falling apart. Hubby kept EVERYTHING - ya know, maybe we could use it!!!
Going out with a group of Moms who are celebrating the day - our children are scattered all over the world.
Dog is so-so. I'm not sure if it is because we want to see improvement or if it is because there is actual progress. He is still leaving "puddle presents" on the floor at night. The vet says that stopping would be a sign of improvement.

I'm freakin' exausted. Just got off the phone with my sister. She has been going through a crisis with her daughter that just graduated college. I had to try and tell her in a diplomatic/supportive way that someone needs to be the adult and it was time to stop wallowing in self pitty and put on her big girl panties. It wore me out.

Who knows. It is a serious matter but what is done is done, she has to relize this and with her you have to be very delicate with how things are said. I've got pretty good at walking the tight rope over the years.

It'll work out eventually. If she handles it in the right manner now instead of her usual hard-ass way..

Rusty peed on the rug.
No smell, but big wet spot.
Why?
2 1/2 years of living in the house and this was the first time. No sign of a bladder infection.
We think it is the dog. It was dry when we left.
I'm gong to have to catch some dog pee and see if it smells.
But he was the only one here.
Puzzling .
OK I admit it , it was me.
