*HELP - Out of control Knight Flight Batman*
Has anyone figured out how to fix an out of control Knight Flight Batman? My Batman worked fine, after I shaved down the ribs in the battery compartment. I flew it maybe 10 times and everything was fine. I was starting to learn how to control it. After the last charge, Batman lifts off the ground and immediately corkscrews out of control to the right. If you attempt to trim it, it'll corkscrew to the left. I changed the rear propeller but it didn't help.

Old TV's generally weighed more. I imagine big ones can too.

It finally arrived. My first Big o' Cosmos. Four days from TX to NJ. Two more days to get to NY. Then another 7 days to make it about 30 miles to my house. Took longer for the last 30 miles then the first 1600. Gotta love the postal system.

Is there any interference from other IR controllers (tv remotes, etc?) Also bright sunlight seems to interfere with the connection. Ceiling fans, even in other rooms, can set up some weird air currents that make these light-weight copters squirrely. Try going into a semi-dark room and see if you still have the problem. Also you can try holding Batman in your hand with the rotors on. If the rear propeller runs with no change in the controls or trim then there could be some interference.

Or it could be that your Batman is just crap, what else did you expect ;-)

First package couldn't get delivered, my fault. We moved not too long ago and when I updated my address I mis-typed it. Told woot and a new package is on it's way! Original package was 4.1 lbs, new one is either 2.2 or the place holder kilo is still up. Whatever it brings, many kudos for their upstanding customer support!

Looks like a pretty sweet haul! Maybe Woot knew you had a cat, so they gave you the snowboard as a first line of defense, and then the foam bow and arrow set as the last measure to keep the cat from the chair?!

I think you are missing something; it's a bag! Get that ol' razor knife out and slit 'er open. You never know what might be inside.

At the least, unzipper it and run the shell through the wash. It was probably the bean bag chair in the Woot employee lounge so who knows what Monte and Mortimer were doing on that thing?

The bag was opened, and there's nothing inside but foam and fabric, sadly. It looks kinda like someone took a few old couch cushions, ripped them to shreds, and stuffed em in there.

Ok, so for those of you who got the Dream Cheeky USB Light thing (that gets brighter as you type faster), has anyone played with it? I got one, but it is still in the box. But I was thinking about some alternative projects for it......

Since it is USB and a light, it could be used as a "new message" indicator (either mail or IM or Twitter or whatever). And maybe the brightness could be an indicator of how many messages. All I need to figure out is how it communicates to the device. I haven't seen any "hacking" pages for it, so it might take me a little while. The programming part of it shouldn't be that difficult once I figure the communications protocol out.

Anyone interested in something like that?

I hooked mine up just out of curiosity. It responds to keystrokes. The faster you press the brighter it gets. Out of the box its just a gadget or a good way for the boss to see if your working. I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

No, no, we managed to get the zipper to move is all, it's been closed back up. Besides, it's too large to move effectively so we'll probably end up emptying it out into a couple garbage bags for transportation then refilling it on site.

Maybe someday I will get a letter from TPW! I have been pretty good at grabbing bags (I think this was number 15 or thereabouts) but I always get the same old average stuff (i.e., crap). Of course, I usually like the crap I get (commandment V) and the real enjoyment comes from the anticipation (in spite of commandment III), but it would be nice to have a pallet full of car wax or returned dvd players (okay, I am close to violating commandment II, so I will stop).

In the end, this is the law of averages at work; most of us get the same crap because probably only 1 out of 500 people or so get big ticket items (not just letters, but electronics and such). But, from a marketing perspective this works well for the Woot gods because as you share your bounty on this forum, it gets the rest of us to continue the journey of seeking crap nirvana (and buying lot's of stuff we don't really need to get to that point during the woot off).

Much congrats. Also, I always wondered if letters went to apartment dwellers. Now I know.

My Sansa clip + works but has a broken clip. Obviously a design flaw. The interesting fact is that Sansa doesn't warranty any of their refurbished products. Since w00t! doesn't warranty Big o' Cosmos items, you're out of luck if your get a refurb Sansa product in your bag.

I'll keep trying, but I'll never buy a refurb Sansa product here again (on purpose). In the interest of full disclosure, I do have one prior non-Crap purchase of a Sansa refurb from w00t! that still works perfectly to this day. Which makes this bamboozle all the more mystifying.

Try the MS approach. Remove all the batteries, sit around for awhile, insert new batteries and voila (or not).
