In for 3. Will be good to put a few flashlights strategically placed around the house. Sometimes a cell phone flashlight just doesn't cut it. lol

Just ordered three and the I want it button is still there. Are you able to order a second set of three? What will happen if I submit a second order?

It seems if you have one of these, you want more. I have two and just got three more for friends.

In for 3. I just threw out my useless "hand crank" and "self powered" flashlights that barely produce any light without unbelievable effort, and I need something new to help keep the boogie man away.

These are so bright I gotta wear shades.
Really, I got 3 to get ready for hurricane season, and I KNOW these will shine through.
They're heavy and not made of plastic, which make them A-O-K

NEXT!!

I pretty much guarantee you can't!

Cree is NOT the brand of the flashlight, it's the brand of the LED module for those of you that don't know/realize.

VERY VERY worth the money. Got three last time, they are all gone, given away. AMAZING to folks that haven't experienced a true LED flashlite (not the nearly worthless freebies from Harbor Freight) NOT so amazing to folks that have been exposed to "good" LED flashlights... but still an amazing deal.

D Cell lights last many times longer than aaa or aa cell lights... don't doubt it...

Good point. I don't think I need three more. Between minis and the double work light pack. I think I'm set for flashlights.

Fantastic light!! Slimmer than a maglite and super bright. Bought 3 the last time they came up and have them in all the vehicles. Very durable and doesn't seem to suck down the batteries..

Edit: In for 3 more!!

You can never have enough flashlights, especially with all the cray weather lately.

Seriously, buy 3, you might need them if you are lacking in teh flashlight department, it never is a bad thing to be prepared.

Pretty good flashlights. I bought 3 the last time they came up and don't regret it.

They are very basic but seem rugged enough. They do not have any sort of beam adjustment and are either on or off (vs. dim, bright, strobe settings like some LED lights have).

The body is aluminum, but a bit on the thin side. I'm not too worried about that as it actually tends to make them a bit lighter. You could still do some damage if you whacked someone with it. The rubberized switch seems to be pretty good and sturdy, giving a positive feedback every time.

The light output is good for their size. Comparable to other 2-D cell LED lights I've had before.

These are not on the same level as a MagLite by any means, but they are excellent for the price. This is a simple, basic, LED flashlight that you'll want to have around for all sorts of uses. Keep 'em stashed away all over the place.

These LEDs are $12 each last I'd checked. The brightest ones manufactured are $22.

Take out the reflector if you'll use it for close-up work; the reflector is a POS.

Worth it to scavenge for parts. VERY bright. The pic makes it look like a pen light; its not. It is 3/4 the size of a MAG LITE

I paid a heck of a lot more for my energizer 1 watt light less than a year ago. If this one is even /functional/ it'll be a better deal. And three times the power, that will be impressive. Of the available lights at the time, the 2 and 3 watt ones were hideously expensive. I'd like to have a light that I can hold in my mouth easily and comfortably while working, and unfortunately all the aluminum bodied ones are not as easy to grip in the teeth as plastic. (and rubber coated ones taste nasty) So here's hoping...

I got one of these the last time they were up. The day after I got it I received a text from my dad while at work, "Its like looking into the sun! How much did you pay for this?". I told him like 5$ and shipping and received, "Buy 5 next time."
So, I'm in for 3.

I stand with most everyone else here - these are very good flashlights at a very good price. I was in for three the last time they came up, now I'm back for three more.

A must-have item for our hurricane kit here in sunny Florida. We were hit by three storms in 2004 (Charley, Frances and Jean) and were out of power for 16hrs and 20 hours for Charley and Jean respectively. No standard flashlights survived that long, but my Brinkman LED 2-D 3-watt Cree light (disgustingly similar to these) held up without a battery change both times. These should provide similar service and now I have extras to share as needed.

Cheers - Jon651

I bought two of these last time. They are the best $7 flashlight money can buy, I think. The body is machined aluminum, the beam is quite bright and tightly focused (around 130 lumens), and it seems to be adequately made.

I have some more expensive Fenix flashlights that are around 20% brighter and more "tactical", but they cost TWENTY TIMES what this flashlight costs.

I also have a few other cheaper flashlights and they don't come anywhere close to the performance of these flashlights.

I bought three this time. I'll keep one and give the others as gifts.

You're right, they're not on the same level as MagLite. They're better. Don't get me wrong the build quality of the light doesn't feel as "solid" as a MagLite, notably when twisting on the battery cap the threads feel a little more fragile. Beyond that they're a far superior light.

I have a 2D MagLite with the MagLite LED replacement (the exact same LED that comes in the MagLED). It's basically the same size as this flashlight, both take 2D batteries, and both are 3W LEDs. The MagLite LED however is not a cree LED and suffers from extremely poor heat sinking. So after about 5 minutes of use the output of the LED is significantly reduced due to it heating up.

The beam of this light has a rather focused spot and a good even spill around the spot. The MagLite on the other hand has a weak spot with a very uneven spill..... adjusting the Mag to get the same spill as this light hollows out the center of the beam to near-worthlessness. Part of the beam issue is the reflector. LED flashlights with good output generally have longer and much steeper reflectors than incandescent reflectors. This flashlight has a nice long/steep reflector while the Mag one is the exact same one used with the incandescent..... the MagLED even comes with an incandescent replacement in the cap.

Anyway these are great lights for the price. They give a crazy bright beam with very even light which doesn't diminish for a very long time.

Oh Shoot - I picked up 3 of these the last time they were offered and am so impressed, I was looking to get some more.

Oh well, next time.

I made the huge mistake of buying two last time Woot had them on sale. THEY SUCK! I had big expectations, as I should since they are supposed to be 3 WATT Cree LEDs and they use two D size batteries. They are worse than $5 flashlights I picked up from meritline.com . Don't waste your money on these.

Wow.

Just got my 3 watt flashlights and got batteries for them today. I will agree with other posters that there are better flashlights out there. Non will come close for a fraction of the price. We'll see how they hold up next to my maglight. They're way brighter at least. My rubber power button fell of my maglight after only a month or 2.

I ordered 3 of these. Just like Mag-lite but a little slimmer. Looking down the barrel of one of these is like looking at the sun.
