I have a couple of these, and love em. The only time they've leaked is when I've put soft drinks in them, which the mfg specifically says not to do. The seal isn't strong enough to handle the added pressure from the carbonation.
As someone else said, the newer ones with Threadless designs have a better lid. The opening on the new ones is round, like a fat straw, whereas the old ones have a wide opening with a small lip.

If you're planning to freeze it solid, don't. Water expands when it freezes, and you'll probably end up damaging the bottle (especially if you leave the lid on). If you just want to keep it colder, I'd invest in some of those water bottle ice trays.
