Try not to be bothered too much about missing out on this nice deal. Since it is popular & the new models of Samsung Galaxy Tablets will be out soon, I expect Woot will be selling this again in the near future, like maybe in a few weeks or a few months. Remember that Amazon is selling new ones for 20% more right now.

Any idea what kind of Bluetooth device will or will not work with this? Headsets, Stereo Headsets, Keyboards, Mice etc...

Also my other question unanswered it comes with 16gig built in and includes another 16gig with the microsd card?

You would think that the Galaxy Tab WiFi would be the same as the Galaxy Tab 3G except for the radio - it isn't. The main processor and graphics processor in the Wi-Fi version are inferior to the ones in the 3G version: 3G CPU is a Hummingbird vs older Cortex A8 in the Wi-Fi; 3G GPU is PowerVR SGX 540 vs older, less capable PowerVR SGX 530 in the Wi-Fi. Also while the 3G version has Bluetooth 3.0, the Wi-Fi version has the earlier 2.1 Bluetooth

So lets talk about the apps available for this. Sorry, I'm a hitchhiker when it comes to Android. What apps have you guys (talking to the owners here) put on this thing? Any must-have apps?

Also, what about video calling? Does the Tab support Skype because it does have the front facing camera?

- μSD card that comes with it is 16 GB
- biggest μSD card you can use is 32 GB

I purchased 2 year warranty from SquareTrade for $50, with 25% off code: WIZZARD25, sadly there is no 30% off code today.

Don't hate, but since this is the Sprint's version of the Galaxy tab, you can go to the Sprint Website and get this same tab new for $199 w/2 year contract. But only online, you go to a Sprint store they don't honor this.

Here is a link to it. My sister got her Tab after she saw my GTablet. The Galaxy Tab is perfect for her because there's no way she would want to root. Kind of annoys me because some apps like Sony Reader App works perfectly on her tab (she can access the books she's bought and read it on her tablet) yet I can get the Reader app to work some but I can't access my books. (Mind you neither one of us could access our books using the Android apps for our phones).

I'm too lazy for signatures... oh, okay not completely lazy.

This actually sold out? Already outdated and only $40 less than amazon's price? Why did people waste their money?

EDIT: It's only $35 less because it has free 2 day shipping on amazon.

So get a brand new one for $35 more or get it refurbished...

Because you can't? The Amazon one you refer to is the Wifi version. If you want the 3G version (which also has somewhat better specs beside having the 3G) without a contract, Amazon sells it for... $699.

Are you sure you specified your warranty correctly? That's the price for category "Miscellaneous". The category for "eReaders and Tablets" brings it in at $86 for a two year warranty, after coupon.

Yep, and that price is good if you intended to use the Sprint data service. I checked that deal earlier today before I pulled the trigger on Woot and decided that I wanted wifi only, so the additional data plan charges killed the deal for me. But if anyone was planning to buy with data and the contract, that looks like a pretty solid deal.

You know what you might like almost as well ... especially since you can get it cheaper? A new Nook Color (wi-fi only) for $249, free shipping (or go to a Barnes & Noble store).

Or a refurbed Nook Color (wi-fi only) for $225, free shipping, from B&N.

Or a refurb from overstock.com for $224.99 plus shipping. Or maybe for less if you can find a coupon that works (this one doesn't seem to).

I have both ... got a Sprint Galaxy Tab first and have really enjoyed the heck out of it! Almost never use 3G. Not "never," just "almost never."

Then I got the Nook Color, rooted it, and I gotta say that if I'd got it first I probably wouldn't have gone with the GalTab due to cost.

There's a performance difference, but I suggest you read up on the NC and see if it might fit your needs. And to compensate, there's Cyanogenmod for the (rooted) NC and not for the GT.

Even the Wifi version is $349 -- where is he getting the $35 price difference? Surely he's not counting one you'd have to sign a 2-year contract for, when this one is contract-free and can be used as wifi-only (for $80 less than the wifi-only, and with better specs).

Daggone!!!

I've never seen something actually sell out this early in the day on Woot before.

I was all set to order but work called me away for a bit.

Missed it! Anybody changes their mind, I'll take it off your hands.

I don't think you need to change the categories. As long as you buy from the woot web link, squaretrade will honor it.

How exactly can you do that?

phetish

quality posts: 0 Private Messages phetish

I bought a no-contract Sprint Galaxy Tab expecting to just go month-to-month and have a couple warnings about it:

Data Plan - if you go to the Sprint store, they will tell you that you have to sign a 2 year contract to turn the 3g on. Period. No month to month. However, complain enough (I sent sprint an email from my Sprint account page and complained) and a nice guy called me back and said he could kill the contract after I went to the store and had it turned on and signed a 2 year contract.

Bluetooth - the Sprint version of the Tab has a slightly crippled Bluetooth stack. You can't just pick up any bluetooth keyboard and hook it up and some people have a hard time finding headsets that work with it. There are only 1 or 2 keyboards that will work with it. Specifically, it doesn't support HID keyboards, only supports SPP keyboards (Freedom Pro Keyboard - http://www.freedominput.com/freedom-accessories/freedom-pro-keyboard )

Other than that, as a wi-fi only device it's awesome. Some games can suck the battery pretty fast, but generally it lasts plenty long enough as a browser/e-reader/email device.

Good luck!

Does anyone know if it is possible to activate on Sprint on a pay as you go plan? Meaning I want service this month, prepay, don't need it next month don't?

See my post above yours for info on the contract problems. It is unlikely you could just start/stop service when you wanted to.

There is a work around IF you are a sprint customer with multiple lines. you can move a phone number from one unit (phone) to another (the tab) without starting a new contract. You can move back and forth between the 2 devices pretty freely - but when you move the service to the tab, the other phone will be dead until you move the service back to the phone.

Basically, if you have an extra line that you are paying $10 a month for, you can move service between devices around all you want.

I used the link in the description, got 2 years for $47.59 using the code THIRTY30 - a seemingly evergreen 30% off code.

UPDATE: Oops. Guess I used it once before...the code was disallowed. Using WIZZARD25. $50.99.
