haha i was like how did you know his name?!

I think the write up for this product is hilarious. Summary of it is 'this product kinda sucks but isn't that bad at this price point. also if you gift this to someone they shouldn't complain cuz they are getting it for free'

There was a phantom reference to Arthur yesterday too...I was very puzzled and only slightly offended since it is only my middle name.

Besides, I am not enough of an Arthur to get worked up about these things. In crafting this post I have discovered that the 12-letter word gets turned into motherwarper. Good to know...

I wouldn't count on it - I have a whole mess of other iPod/iPhone accessories, and none of them work correctly with the 4th gen iPod Touch. Occasionally I'll get sound out of them, but they never charge it. Apple changed something (but oddly, they didn't change it on the iPhone. . .).

When you undock it it'll pause the music, so you have to hit play when you plug it back in. But really that only takes less than a second.

I have an iPhone 4 in a Griffin Survivor Case - will those of us with big cases on our phones be able to use this product without getting our phones naked?

There is a sad trend to license one's good brand name to a cheaper line of products not made by the original company as in RCA , Magnavox, Argus, Bell & Howell, GE and more. I HOPE this is not another one of those.

Will it dock properly with a bumper case on the iPhone 4?

StarWolve

Has anyone tried to dock using this and an iPhone with a case on it?

I use a relatively slim Magpul case on my iPhone 4, and was hoping this would work without removing the case. I'm sure an otterbox or something bulky like that would be an issue for docking, but how about small, slim cases?

Oh, it's Tuesday today - the holiday threw me off.

Seems like a good deal. One of these could be used in the guest bedroom, while the other could be moved around between the kitchen, the garage, and near the hot tub so I could stream audiobooks or Pandora.

I am not expecting the alarm app to support a "wake to Pandora" feature, but if it does I'll be extremely happy.

In for one (pair)

A slightly more serious answer: I too have a fuze or two I love. I managed to score some of the griffin sansa powerdocks when overstock had them - they pair w/ typical computer speakers pretty well (My boys bedtime music system is an old C240 in such a setup). I could see one working with this pretty well. I'm thinking about getting this, and performing actual frankenstein hybridization surgery ... muahahahah!

i skimmed the comments here pretty quickly so apologies if i missed this point: keep in mind that these kind of iPod/iPhone docks only tap the signal from the iPod that has already been processed to analog by the iPod. Ie, it's the same as the headphone jack essentially. A better, and pricier, way to get really good sound from an iPod is to get a dock like a Wadia or HRT that take the DIGITAL signal from the iPod, bypassing the cheap internal processor in the iPod, and doing the digital to analog conversion on a better dac chip. iPods/iPhones can be excellent sources of music if you want to spend quite a bit more money..

I never take the Otterbox off when I dock my iPhone. Buy and extension cord for the iPhone. It's not expensive and works great and you can also use it with your charger cord to lengthen it. The extension cord fits into the dock station and into the iPhone end.

The guy who made that video had some good points. It's not super loud so if you're looking for something to bump at your next house party, this aint it. However, I got one about 6 months ago and within a week went & purchased a 2nd one because I liked it so much. Works great as an alarm clock and the 2nd one I keep in the bathroom so I can rock out in the shower. Buying two more today to put in our garage and guest room. Two for LESS THAN the price of one? Yes please!

I use the Cyber Acoustics Portable Digital Docking Speaker for iPod without any problems on my iPod Touch 4G. I'm able to dock it with the RaveSkin case by not using the 4G adapter. It's a good sounding system that can also use batteries.
