Only one (5-star) review on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-29670-WirelessHD-Transmitter/dp/B003HHRENO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1308094891&sr=1-1

Half what they're going for on Amazon (though there's exactly one rating and it's 5 stars).

Still I have use for this thing so I'll give it a shot.

Why would I need one of these?

Looks like it's line of sight only, no using it between walls or floors. That's according to the one amazon review (5*, btw) and the mention in the features listed here about "in-room components".

If you stand between them can you watch TV in your brain? Right before it melts into a proteinaceous puddle?

If your wife doesn't like the idea of HDMI cables dangling off the TV and you can't fish them through the wall. If you're human IT guy only ran VGA to the projector in the conference room but it supports HDMI, etc...
You want to connect your lap top to the your TV but don't want to run wires across the room ,etc..

If you need to connect your content-producing device (cable box, PC, Blu-Ray, etc.) to your display, but can't run a wire between them.

Maybe there's a hardwood floor between with no base molding to hide wires behind, or maybe there's a concrete wall or something.

These things are pretty cool (I don't know about this particular model, just in general), but they're a niche thing. If you need one, you probably know it.

I like the two-button remote. It's very minimalist.

The nice thing about something like this vs. most other wireless display solutions is that it's uncompressed video- you won't see any artifacting due to compression.

Who manufactures the TX/RX chips in these? IMO, this wireless HDMI will be integrated into consumer electronics from TV's to cellphones to projectors, toasters and blenders soon enough... goodbye HDMI cables!
