Jos, I also can't believe you don't have leak frogs. I've had mine go off three times and my son's went off last month with the water heater when it busted during the night. They are a god send or a woot send...whatever it may be those suckers sure do work great.

went shopping today with friend and her 2 month old- that was an adventure!

Dad went home today, nephew is here. Niece's bday party with her friends tonight at their house and she didn't want her little brother there spoiling the fun.

so the formerly cool Aunt is now the babysit the little brother Aunt

as I understand them, the area has to be dry for them to be working there. If I had a remotely dry basement, I might try to use them, but it isn't. Water seeps through the walls all the time. It stays at best 'damp', and the concrete is often pretty wet. This part of the house was built in about 1850, and has a rubble-wall foundation, so there really isn't much to be done about it.
