hyuk, that's inky, she's been with us for a couple months now. She likes cats, long, rain-sodden walks, and the soulless grey of Seattle in winter.

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

Most of the creeks here crested Monday, no more flooding. Still no power at SO's work site in NJ.

Singer machines are good for general sewing purposes. I have 3 machines--one an old Singer, one Brother that's cheap but functional, and a referb Singer that I got off woot a couple years back. It's my machine of choice. Until I get my mothers Janome, anyway.

I bought the woot one today. I figure I borrow a machine two to three times a year and have somethings I don't do because it's just too much effort to borrow a machine. I was going to go buy a cheap singer anyway (although I'd love a Bernina), so this works. As for the Bernina, I probably wouldn't actually use it enough to justify the cost.

Ver1 is back in school. She's loving it. I get to go do lunch stuff in a few mins. Actually got up this morning. Vitamin D3 is helping a lot. Now if I could just find a job in Seattle.....

A couple months ago I finally gave up on my deck of Uno cards, they were sticking too bad. They were at least 30 years old, if not more. Bought a new deck at Walmart. Whoever came up with and approved the new design should be looking for work. The yellow (not gold) was so light even the grandkids had trouble with it. And symbols instead of words. Like instead of "Draw Two" it was 2+. We kept mixing those up with twos. Then I saw an ad for "Retro Uno." Yeah! Got it today, much better. Bet they had lots of complaints. The box is still stupid, you have to put the two decks on top of each other instead of beside each other, but at least the cards are better.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Yeah, I have to figure out what I'm going to do too. I've done lots of different stuff. We'll see, although if woot has an opening ;)

i think dname's post came about because not all staffers are mods. for example, inky could have been some sort of codeslave and gatzby could have been put in charge of some of them.

We are making a test run of pear preserves. The smell is wonderful! I've never made any preserves so I wanted to try out the recipe first. This is just pears, sugar, lemon slices and water. I'll make biscuits for breakfast and we will test it out.

I had a Casio non smart before this phone. It was millitary specs, indestuctible, blah blah.
To clean it they reccomended cleaning with soap and water under a running tap.
I broke it anyway but it lasted the longest I've ever been able to keep a phone. (I'm really hard on phones).

Do you think their trying to tell us something?...Like "Hey stupid you still here? Can't you take a hint?"

hyuk, I got one of those EVERY YEAR I worked for the state. No cost of living increases for 10 years. One year in there the biologists got one, but they were usually shafted with the rest of us.

As for non-smartphones. I had good luck with the Sony phones. I had two of those, one we still use for the house and it's just now really failing. It's almost 6 years old.
