Taking a break from making salsa. Standing and chopping peppers is a lot of work! Getting ready to cut the corn off the cob and chop onions, cilantro, and tomatoes, and lime enough for the salsa and beer.
SO is clearing the garage so we can get cars inside, JIC, but so far it's just overcast and the occasional sprinkle. Not expecting much, it looks like we're outside the 'zone' completely now.

Are you getting any of the hurricane?
Mostly rain - getting harder; wind is up a bit more now.

A tad heavier rain here, but it alternately lightens and intensifies; wind is steadier at about 10 mph.

Raining off and on here. Can see the 'swirl' in the clouds, giant sweeping curve from north to west to south. Pretty cool. Otherwise, nothing, not ever a breeze. But we're well out of the hurricane, this is just the clouds being pushed in front of Irene. Supposed to pick up and get windier tonight.
Pizza for dinner--testing a new dough recipe. Made the dough on Wednesday, let it cold rise in the fridge. Very easy to work with, and tastier on last night than it was Thursday. We make little pizzas, just enough to both get a taste.
Edit to add: KTC...I had a couple that I camped with, similar issues. They called, said 'let's divide up meals, you get one breakfast, one lunch, one dinner for everyone, we'll get the same'. Ok, asked how many people, shopped accordingly...then got there and discovered they'd invited 2 more couples. Ugh. I brought enough everyone could have seconds, but still, rude to bring more and not say!

Mmmm, cheese curd! I put them in salads, toss them with pasta with garlic and olive oil, batter and fry them, or just eat them plain or with crackers.

Edit: Ktc- sometimes you have to lose one friendship because another is toxic, and therefore the one you value becomes toxic too
Mixed feelings here. If y'all get a hurricane I would be very concerned for your safety, on the other hand it would mean we would at least get the much needed rain portion.

My brother in law took his kid to school in Wisconsin
He drove back so he could check on his boat.
He is in a mandatory evacuation area .
His house is on the bay. His lawn floods with heavy rain.
His house is supposably 10 feet high. Bull, no way.
He is staying in the house.
Like he can hold back the tide???
His business and the school his wife teaches in are off the same bay. About a half mile from the water.
So if that bay floods, everything goes with it. House, boat and way to make a living.
So he won't know dentistry if he loses his house, boat, and office?
