pooflady wrote:Not sure when I'll be getting my crap. Was originally the 25th, but then changed to the 26th. Maybe because usually it goes from Dallas to Wisconsin to Columbus to here. This time it went from Dallas to West Virginia. I'm betting the next arrival place will be Wisconsin and it went to W. Virginia by mistake.

Mine says the 26th. Doubt that will happen. Seems that it's always 3-5 days after it gets to post office. Article was written not long ago about Smart Post boxes being put aside. They aren't priority therefore they sit and wait until they are less busy or until five days pass and then they are suppose to rush it out. In and around the city, our post offices are never not busy.

Edit: I wish Woot offered a choice of paying more for FedEx or UPS shipping. I'd pay it. Local post office is a PIA.

He has always liked funny things that are posted. I think it's the every day reality stuff that he's not too thrilled about when it's posted sometimes.

Just talked to granddaughter. She's currently reading Harry Potter and The Diary of Anne Frank.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

"harry potter and the diary of anne frank" doesn't sound nearly as exciting as "harry potter and the deathly hallows." i bet it's a chinese knockoff.

"Crapshoot" has been there since 04/01 I think, nothing new. The rickroll is new, I tried the Konami code during the original crapshoot and got nothing.

LPLADY if you haven't bought books already:

For my 9 year old cousin (last year, she's now 10 and really liked all these) we got:
39 Clues (this is really popular right now - I'm reading them too, but the newest book is locked in a school and won't be available until the end of summer, grrr).
The Secret Garden
A Series of Unfortunate Events
The Boxcar Kids
Little Women

Others I or my husband liked around that age that my 6 year old is getting set to read:
Anne of Green Gables
Bridge to Terabithia
Trumpet of the Swan
Stuart Little
Charlotte's Web
Judy Blume books
Ronald Dahl books

My daughter is also reading the Legend of Droom series (which might be good for 10 year olds). I see a lot of Animorphs in the cafeteria at school. If in doubt PM or facebook Joyner, she gave me a good list last year

Good morning everybody! Bought a Roku. We finally have enough bandwidth to support it. We walked what I thought was 2 miles on the beach. Google maps says it is only 1.2 miles. Sigh... Went to Wally World. It has rained again this morning! Have a great day everybody!

Good for the lawns and trees and gardens.

Not so good for the coworkers wanting to go to the cafeteria for lunch.

Came home from Target and Kroger with a pile of bags to be carried in. Already dragging because it's hot. Little girl across the street came over and offered to help me carry them in. I really, really appreciated it. Saved me a bunch of trips. But makes me feel really, really old. //sigh//
