Just remember if you get on an older ride and they have you remove your earrings, get off immediately.

There is lots of time for the riverwalk then. The Alamo only takes about an hour or two.
There's a great Mexican market in S.A. that's kinda fun.

Morning!

SO is off with the eldest, camping with the boy scouts tonight. He's still a Webelo, so this is a big deal.

Need to sort out breakfast and get a few things done.

And, happily, the insurance company was successful in getting ALL of the money back for the car accident in March, including out deductible! Yay!

My speech is not splitting. I am speaking in Cthulhu.

My kitchen is clean enough for the old lady across the street to sit and read while she watches Rusty.

Maybe she won't stay this time. It is not as hot. We have AC, she doesn't .

If she remembers! She forgot yesterday when I dropped off the key.
She is in her 80's.

Orc got invited to go cut firewood today, got invited last night. Then at 10:30 they moved the departure time up to 5:30am. Orc can't hear alarms, so I had to get up to get him up. So no sleep for me. Taking Versions to birthday parties, I hate dropping in with all my kids, but Ver2 is too young to stay by herself and I didn't know Orc was going to be gone when we RSVP'd.

Didn't realize the party is over lunch (should have but didn't). I probably should bring food for Ver1 and 2 since they can't eat dairy... oh well, no time now.

Went to brother in law, who lives on the bay . Going away party for nephew going to law school.
Across the bay is the first town in the Hamptons . But no matter how hard he tries, it will always be across the bay.

First thing they said is "Where is Rusty?"
Well you never said we could take him....

But, on the whole, it was very nice!
Nice weather. No bugs. Not that many people.
Good food.

I played with their doggie.

When I was in grade school, my adult cousin (youngest of mom's generation of cousins) got married in the catering hall.
She wasn't religious. She married a Jew in a Jewish ceremony.

The cocktail hour was first.

This was in maybe 65, when interfaith marriages were uncommon. None of us were ever to a Jewish ceremony before.

Everyone was drunk.
Catholic cousins (who hadn't stepped foot in a church in years) decided they didn't need to wear a yarmulke.
Other cousins started fighting with them....put the damn thing on and shut up....sort of stuff.

My cousin and I were just sitting there laughing at the grownups!

The moral of this story is....never drink BEFORE the wedding!

Sounded like the adult version of the one in the kiddy park.
When my kids were little, there was one of those small kid amusement parks in the neighborhood.
It had a tiny roller coaster. Maybe 15 feet high.
Roughest friggin coaster in the universe!

Had to go on it every time with son.
He was obsessed by it. Couldn't pass it in the car without him going nuts yelling COCOASTER!!!! why co coaster? Who knows?

The thing was on a major street, less than a mile from home. Hard to avoid passing it.

Mom of second party is brilliant. She just casually kept putting food out and the mob of kids went from room to room to outside and the party didn't even get started until everyone had been there 3 hours. Then we had dinner and cake and then presents and then more play. Picked up Orc, took friends post surgery puppy for a very short walk (not supposed to walk on her post-op leg yet) and put kids in bed.

Orc survived his day too.
