Hendrix for the daughter (who is 11 and into that whole Justice/peace sign thing). Def Leppard for the son - he can sharpie the logo out, but at least it's all black for his morbid, skull-loving wannabe-skater look.
Tupac for me, because I'm DEFINATELY going to sharpie out/peel off the logo. Black/chrome looks good.

(I am the same, classical music and NPR/BBC, there are many of us, my friend).
Having spent some years on FM radio, I can say with some authority that the compressed frequenciies of FM do not require $200 earbuds. Now, if you are listing digitally, perhaps. Still a lot of money to pay to gain a small amount of frequency gain.
