To those whining about the 20hz-20khz frequency response listed:
you are a fool. frequency response specs on earphones and headphones is a marketing gimmick used to fool you specs-absorbed fools who'll fuel the manufacturer's ignorance-sustained business. frequency range says even less than nothing about the quality of the headphones.
headphone elitist out.

In for 3, birthdays are coming up for a few friends, and what could be cooler than earbuds with their favorite bands?

I would be more inclined to buy these if they had Bach or Chopin editions. Or NPR.

This is why I have no friends...

I got the ones that have "The Who"
I think it's cool the chord is Blue.
and then got Elvis for the Pink.
my daughter will be pleased, I think.
and Hendrix for the bit of red,
which should look fine stuck in my head.

Wow, bought the same three...My daughter wanted the pink and she didn't mind Elvis...My other daughter wanted the Who because of the blue cord...And I picked up the Hendrix for the cool peace sign look...........Really like the Who one though......

I picked up a pair of these at Urban Outfitters on clearance and was quite happy with the look and sound. However, I'm tough on my cheap earphones and the plug couldn't handle the stress (it comes straight out of the player rather than at a right angle). After one exceptionally crushing moment, the earphones only worked when I wiggled the plug.

One other point; the Def Leppard insignia on the back popped out of one of the earphones the 2nd day I had them. It was basically just a black back without it, so I tried to pry the other off. I couldn't do it, but it does seem like a possibility if you don't like the design.

Maybe "Deaf Leppard" would be more appropriate after using these ear buds.

Hendrix for the daughter (who is 11 and into that whole Justice/peace sign thing). Def Leppard for the son - he can sharpie the logo out, but at least it's all black for his morbid, skull-loving wannabe-skater look.

Tupac for me, because I'm DEFINATELY going to sharpie out/peel off the logo. Black/chrome looks good.

Daddy, can I borrow your earphones, I broke mine again.... Sure here is a brand new set just for you. Be careful they are a very expensive monogrammed pair.

Not really a Devo fan, but got two because those are my favourite colors & the design looks nice. Grabbed a Def Leppard as well to relive my youth. ^_^

Even if the sound could be better, they will be great for using on the floor where my nice earbuds fear to tread....no earphone cord is immune to bunny teeth.

Don't worry, you wouldn't want to listen to Bach or Chopin with these crap.

Get a pair of Etymotic ER4 instead. Why hurt your ears?

(I am the same, classical music and NPR/BBC, there are many of us, my friend).

Really why care? It would cost more to mail these back and pay shipping than to just get another pair. In maost of my cases, the warranty will be over when they are lost!

camelcamelcamel shows highest price on Amazon was %10.79, lowest 9.70 for Lil Wayne Section 8 but you'd have to do each artist individually to see each price high/low.

When I googled the name of the store I found it. (Or a different store with the same name that carries the same product, which seems less likely.) It sells these but the price is $19.99 not something wildly outrageous.

Having spent some years on FM radio, I can say with some authority that the compressed frequenciies of FM do not require $200 earbuds. Now, if you are listing digitally, perhaps. Still a lot of money to pay to gain a small amount of frequency gain.
