Buckets were sent out one-by-one as the "B" in the 05/09/2008 BoC. They had a two-tone Woot logo and sweet "?" symbol printed on them. The 8 quart pre-galvanized buckets were custom made by a large company that mostly made beer buckets for bars. The production time was 5 months, but we were in no rush. In the period of time from when we placed the order to when we received the product, the price of any new order for buckets from this manufacturer doubled, driven by the financial black swan that was 2008. This cost increase was the catalyst for the value added project that numbered each bucket. Because new orders were now cost prohibitive, I knew this was a limited run and called my printer to make stickers that revealed a single unique number out of the 2000 made. As the buckets came off of the pallet (in the order we received them from the manufacturer) and on to the BoC assembly-line, the sticker was placed on the bottom. The demand was strong and I was happy to see how well received they were by our community.

Thank you for that. As the joint owner of one of the numbered buckets, it was fascinating to know. That Bundle of Crops remains probably the best one we've ever had, though a few others have run close. Thanks!

5.9 pounds on the way...and this is my 10th Bindle of Carrots. Best one I ever received was probably the 10 mp3 players and remote control helicopter. Worst...6 steel buckets with holes in the bottom.

Still no detailed tracking info for me, just that fedex was notified. If mine was one of the last ones out that just means more chances for a letter, right? Mike, what would be the probability of me getting letters in back-to-back Bundle of Crops's?

Not Mike, but I did the math. Assuming there are 3 letters per shipment, the chance on your first time was .01%, or 1 in a thousand. Multiply that by the probability of getting it again, which is 3 in 2500, you come up with a .000012% chance of it happening. Hmm.. Not very good. Haha

Also coming to the Kansas City area, mine is...

8.9 lbs
14.3 x 14.3 x 14.3
Estimated delivery to Kansas City - 7/23

So maybe nicer things come in smaller, lighter packages? :-\ I doubt it when it comes to BOCs.

KANSAS CITY area TRIPLETS! I forgot to add earlier my 8.5 lb box is headed for the KC area. Will they deliver on a Saturday? That's when mine is scheduled as well...

I hope our bright orange carabiners become friends during the shipping process.

People think a light package will contain a letter that says "we couldn't fit your third item" - and then end up getting something huge.

I just noticed something... My dad's Bundle of Crops is still a placeholder at this time, but it also has an Invoice Number with the shipment info (along with the order number in the Reference field). I have never seen this field before with any Woot shipment info, let alone a Bundle of Crops... Could this lead to a letter of some kind?

The triplets are being "delivered" by "doctor" SmartPost, so the first part is handled by Fed Ex then handed off to USPS. If your Bundle of Crops is delivered to your Postal Office in time, and your carrier gets it out to you, it can/will be delivered on a Saturday. This is all done pretty quickly in the Olathe area, i.e. gets to the PO in the AM and to me in the PM.
