I suppose so, but I live in a busy neighborhood in Chicago. If they leave my package on the porch while I am at work all day, it will surely not be there when I return...

I really need to work on training my dog to open the door to accept mail. Lol!

Hmm. If location doesn't play a role with delivery time, maybe there is something else... Do you think there may be a correlation between the time that the order was placed and what day it will be delivered?

To the people that have already received it: do you happen to remember roughly when you placed the order on woot?

I'm so anxious to receive it that I'm trying to distract myself by coming up with a logical explanation for delivery times, lol.

what? pretty sure it doesn't work that way.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the time the order was placed probably plays a role. With thousands of orders, it makes sense that the machines would spit out shipping labels in the order that the orders came in.

Or, sorted by last name. Or, sorted alphabetically by the 3rd character in last names. Or, randomized.

lol.

Hmm, interesting. You've added a whole new level of complexity to my considerations. Must go back to drawing board and re-evaluate potential variables...

Hey
So ive been reading the posts and anxiously waiting for my Xoom to arrive (finally got the tracking number yesterday, set to deliver tomorrow). Some of you have gotten the H.6.2-21-demo build of the Xoom. From my reading is the Latin America build of the Xoom. xda forums has the answer to update to 3.2.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15790218#post15790218

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163523

The second link tells the instructions and specifically mentions the build models that people reported having received. Root instructions and more information are all over the xda forums and other xoom/android forums. if you have never done it before I would recommend looking over http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879701 first, it helps to explain adb and whatnot.

I don't think so - I ordered mine at 6:30am - pretty early sales-volume wise.

So far it seems to be panning out location-wise. A lot of Southeastern people received it yesterday, and west cost people that received their tracking information are set for delivery tomorrow.

I definitely want to tether from my HTC EVO 4G to my Xoom, when I get it.

Anyone have any info on how to root Android 2.3.3 on an HTC EVO 4G? I can only find instructions through 2.3.2, which doesn't help.

Thanks in advance.

I have used unrevoked for rooting my Evo. Works well and the site has all the information that you will need. http://unrevoked.com/

Check out;

I have had an evo since launch and have had it rooted, I am currently running the MikG 2.3 and its amazing, I was thinking of getting a new phone but after running some of these newer hacked firmwares it has all the stuff that is in all the new phones and runs great, so no real reason to upgrade for me

There's also a method for wired tethering to an android phone. I believe directions for that can be found on xda as well.

I just watched the fedex guy drive right past my house... I'm hoping he just follows a specific order path when delivering. I'm super anxious to see him show up now!

As of yet, no Xoom, no tracking e-mail. Northern NC here.

Got mine. It didn't have the demo firmware, and it's doing a 3.2 OTA upgrade now. However, it has a vertical line of dead pixels about 1/4 inch from the right edge. Green and blue are dead, it's a red line.

Nice refurb job, Moto. I bet you won't cross-ship me either.

What?! Woot is awesome. You have to stick around and have more fun with us.

I've Wooted only 14 times, and this is the first time I didn't get a tracking number quickly. So, this is NOT the norm.

Many other people have Wooted 30, 60, even 100+ times. It's really a great place.

And, as has been pointed out, Woot is still within their promised delivery time-frame. They promise to ship within 5 days and it takes time after that. They still have wiggle room.

That jerk. You should have smacked him and demanded he deliver the Xoom or something of equal or greater value.

You know... Motorola's headquarters, complete with helipad, is a mere 45 minutes away from me. Chicago should have been the first to get these! lol.

If I were doing it geographically, I would send it to the furthest places first; that way, everyone would be getting it at about the same time. But who really knows where they are shipping them from.

same answer here...

Shipping will typically occur sometime within 5 business days of ordering, you should get a tracking number by email once it’s shipped.

If you ever need more information on an item you ordered, you can always go to the Woot site that you ordered from, click on the My Account link, and then click on the item that you ordered and it will bring up tracking information as well as the receipt.

Tye

I only live 5-6 miles from the Olive Branch location that they are shipping from! Wish I could just pick it up.

You're upset you haven't received your package 6 days after placing the order, knowing that it would be shipped using a basic shipping service? The lack of communication might be a slightly valid complaint but if the product shows up in a reasonable amount of time, then that should be what matters in the long run.

I've wooted over 50 times and never had an issue with their customer service. There was an error with one product and they were very quick to correct the problem. I wouldn't hold it against a company for being slow to deliver a tracking number. The only reason those are useful is to know when it will actually be delivered. You'll probably receive your number and your package within the next day or 2 which seems well within a reasonable time frame.

Just got an email from Woot, my Xoom is still being processed for shipping, so I won't be getting mine til like... forever.

(Although it probably has nothing to do with it, I live in a suburb of Chicago)

On the plus side, if it ships tomorrow, it will still be within the 5 days so I can't complain.

Staff

Most of these have shipped and we've gotten tracking. We're waiting on our vendor to send the rest of them- tomorrow's the fifth business day, so we're working on getting everything organized by the end of day tomorrow. Sorry for the delays.

Some/most (all?) of you should be able to look up your tracking using your order number as a reference here.

Your order is still being processed for shipping. As soon as the tracking information is made available, an email notification will be sent out.

Thanks,
Kelly

I would guess its somewhat of an autoreply! LOL! I was hoping I would get mine today! LOL!

that seems to make sense, bc i don't think anyone from Chicago has received theirs yet. And why they didn't provide the shipping info when we requested it. So if they haven't shipped it out yet but they ship it out tomorrow its still going to take another 4-6 days to be delivered. that's just crazy...

I haven't received an e-mail or any updates on Woot. Also, what will happen to the ones that get a demo xoom? I'm hoping I'm not one of those unlucky ones...

davis1603

quality posts: 0 Private Messages davis1603

Well I got an RMA for mine already after finding out I had the dreaded OEM ROM that will NOT let it be updated. Write Woot at rma@woot.com and tell them it was not as advertised because it has Android 3.0.1 and a ROM that will NOT update without risky hacking or sending it back to the factory.

BTW, it IS a nice pad, very adequate for things that a pad is good for, definitely NOT a PC replacement but good for basic browsing and so forth. Email apps are a bit lacking if you don't use Gmail. I wanted a Xoom because of the GPS availability on a NON cellular version and a general abhorrence to Apple products. I'd recommend it if you are guaranteed to NOT get a DEMO model.

Now to see if I can slick this baby of all my info before I send it back.

I am DEEPLY dissatisfied with Woot on this, although I realize THEY might of gotten snookered in the deal also. Kudos on issuing an RMA without a fuss too.
