Probably not going to be the last person to mention this, but that's an iPod Touch, not an iPhone. :p

I'll be your Apple man.

I personally love Altec Lansing. Never had a problem with the audio quality, and it seems like a great bang for your buck. I work at Radioshack, and I usually recommend Altec's products to my customers.

I have one and don't like it. It's the second one after they sent me one to replace the first defective one. Now I have other problems. It won't charge the Ipod. It will play it direct, but won't charge. It seemed like a nice boom box design, but you can't really carry it with the ipod in it and play anything. The ipod will come out. Flawed design.

One day Wootoff is AWESOMESAUCENESSLY!

It's like it's 2006 all over again. Ah, the old days...

I bought one of these last month from woot and it sounds great. I saw the same thing, the other day, at Best Buy for 129.99. This is a great deal. I'm getting another one. My wife took the last one.

One-Day wootoffs are a lot better than those 2 or 3 day ones...

So, we got rid of all those huge double tape deck boom boxes from the 80's in favor of just listening to stuff on MP3 players with headphones in the 2000's.

Now we're going semi-retro and mashing the boom box and MP3 player experience together. (Although, with 3" speakers, thinking of this as a boom box replacement is probably a bit of a stretch.)

At least now this has Li-ion batteries so we don't need to fill a landfill with a bunch of "D" cells after an afternoon of jammin'.

That girl on the box looks like she is REALLY getting into the music. Or does this have an attachment not mentioned in the write up? I'll listen to what she's listening too.

A note of minor caution. While this is designed to work with the iPhone, it is NOT designed to be compatible with the iPhone 4, only 3GS and 3G technically. It comes with adapters for the ipod touch and iPhone 3GS. The result is a very loose fit if you try to use this with the iPhone 4. It WILL work, but you may have to use some unconventional padding to prevent undue stress on your iPhone's data port (I personally used some of the foam from the packaging) otherwise, this is a great product with great sound. And a definite steal

FYI: The Spec sheet link near the bottom of the ad says this one will work with with the iPod Touch 4th Gen.

And I quote:
"MADE FOR:
iPod touch (1st, 2nd, 3rd
and 4th generation)
iPod classic
iPod with video
iPod nano
(1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation)
iPhone 4
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 3G
iPhone"

Happy Belated Birthday WOOT!

It appears that you can get the official adapters from the manufacturer directly for free, you just have to cover shipping... http://tinyurl.com/6g8cfgw

...and this has not been designed to walk around with while holding by the handle like a boom box. Your iPod would be leaning out of it at quite an angle.

YOU SIR are UNAMERICAN.
I prefer my boombox and D cells. I enjoy filling my trash bags with them (no recycling for me!). I also enjoy driving my Hummer over your Prius and chuckling at your camelback toxin free waterbottle as your plastic car (not toxin free) buckles and makes the bottle explode.

Ha! So there.

Actually I made it all up. But you are correct in your assessment.

Kind of like how we made 5,000 years of evolution to have jobs so we can pay for heated homes and now we crave sitting in the backyard by the fire pit. Odd really.

Got this last go around and I think the sound quality is excellent. It's not room filling mind you, but really nice. For those who might be interested, I saw the similar model with FM tuner at BJ'S wholesale club for 70 bucks. (30$ off 100$)

Check out Wikipedia.org and search for "Class D Amplifier". The entry also has links for A, B, and C.

I'd tell you what it said, but shoot, I fix air conditioners.

I just bought one of these recently and I'm massively impressed with the sound quality this thing can produce, as well as the volume. If I put it up on the higher end volume-wise, I can hear it at the other end of the house.

The bass could be a bit better, but considering the size of the unit, again, I was quite impressed. A lot of people were saying that the bass on these is bad. Well, it is when you compare it to an audiophile setup. But compared to similar units, it's quite good.

I'm confused. Woot says this works with my 6g Nano, but Altec spec sheet doesn't list it. What's the deal, Woot?

Well I didn't find anything in the wootoff but this I can use. My classic ipod's headphone jack doesn't work anymore so I don't use it anymore but now I can just run it in this thing.

Highly recommend these speakers. Battery life is great and sound quality and output is phenomenal for such an inexpensive device. Great for camping, headboard jams with random room dancing, poolside play-lists, and shower tunes (though don't take it IN the shower, mind you). I love toting this thing around the house with me without having to worry about plugging it in each room or interrupting the music.

I can haz woot?!
