DO NOT BUY! Unless you like supporting awful product and even worse customer service.

I totally concur; Total garbage, and SOG, surprisingly, does not stand behind this product at all. It is total garbage, and not even worth it at this price. The saw does not cut, the entrenching tool is apparently made of paper, and the hatchet wont hold an edge.
DO NOT BUY This Crap! You have been warned.

Excellent, more survivalist gear! Yes, SOG is not necessarily top of the line quality, but they don't usually make total garbage either. The key thing about this (and what I mentioned last time a similar entrenching tool came up) was its potential utility for the collapse of society. I think, with our recent economic distresses, its a sign that the Woot gods are trying to send here, and that sign is preparedness. Sure, this set will not complete your bug-out bag, but it will be a start, and thats really whats its all about. You need to start preparing for what could be coming down the line. And now that they've included that tomahawk, its even better. I suggest, in addition, a rifle in a common caliber (perhaps 5.56mm, since its a standard NATO round/ used by our military, also lightweight so more can be carried) and a nice knife, to round out your defensive/ offensive tools. There are a number of other things, which you'll need to figure out for yourselves. Its only one step in the right direction, but a crucial one along the road toward self-reliance. But altogether, this set should be useful for building your shelter in the hills post-apocalypse. And also for burying your excrement in holes. Don't forget hygiene!

These are not camping tools even if they aren't low quality. I go backpacking and campground camping and have never needed a shovel or hatchet. Even the Boy Scouts were adopting the "Leave No Trace" attitude about camping back in the early 1970s. They've left a few traces on young men's brains, but not the campground.

These are good for ending problems and then burying them in shallow holes. Not so hot for legitimate grave digging.

Ummm, I think this gets back to that old China thing. Come on, Woot! Quit puffin' up the Chicom's wallets while attempting to deflate ours by selling inferior quality merchandise. All kidding aside, you ought to be ashamed of your buying/selling practices. Buy MADE IN USA, Wooters!

In the "yeah, it looks familiar, but not quite" category, they sold the outdoor set multiple times, with the entrenching tool the only tool in common. The last non-woot-off sale I can find from last December:

So, If I'm hearing about an entrenching tool breaking? It ain't gonna happen.

Sorry, passing!

Don't forget it makes a great, improvised toilet seat!

Seriously, Steve, this isn't as good as the Army's E-tools we used to dig hasty fighting positions with?

I bought a similar SOG set a year ago from Woot. Actually bought 3. Gave one to my son and gave one as a raffle prize at our annual Jeep Scrambler event in Ouray, Co. Mine came in handy when my wife wrapped a 1" branch around a brake line. That big serrated knife cut through it like butter. Saved us from a major break. Going to play on the dunes in Silver Lake, Mi. this weekend. I will be sure to pack the the shovel - just in case....

sooo of the 408120384123 reviews of ths axe on youtube... not one of them seems to be of someone trying to chop wood, which is all I would be interested in doing with it on a camping trip.

How well does this thing chop wood?!

I have to disagree with the naysayers on this particular Woot. I was in for 1 of these the last time around for my son to use in Boy Scouting. I gotta tell you the set has been absolutely perfect for his usage and many of the other boys in the troop have been asking him where they can get it. I forwarded today's woot to the Scout Master, so hopefully the Troop will be in for a few and some of the individual scouts will be in for a few more.

Much better off with this shovel: http://www.coldsteel.com/spshovel.html

If you break this, there is something wrong with you.

Too heavy and bulky for backpacking or bicycle touring. If you're car camping, just take real tools from the hardware store since they'll work much better. Gotta wait until tomorrow hopefully for something good.

I had to reevaluate the day of the week due to no two-for-Tuesday. Am happy to find I am not in "Groundhog Day" film and repeating Monday. Am less happy to find it's not yet Wednesday.

Although SOG makes quality products... I can't imagine using some of these "tools" they include in their camping sets. Mainly, they're simply too small to be reasonably effective. I'm not digging anything with that tiny little shovel. Why don't a just use my hands?lol

They've included a tiny hatchet before. Great. I can chop some small branches. I probably could have broken them with my boot. Or just brought a slightly larger one and chopped down the entire tree.

I have a decent collection of SOG items and have been happy with the quality of them all. SOG is always the first company I turn to when I am looking for a new knife, etc. Not too mention the Tomahawk alone is about $30 retail. So you are pretty much getting the other 2 items for $20 total

The description says:
"Yeah, blade in the front, blade in the back, we kept those folded up, though. Didn’t want anybody to get hurt."

...but this is not possible. The SOG Revolver is a fixed blade knife. You can rotate the blade to select knife or saw functionality--but you cannot secure the blades like a folding knife.
