This is a great camera for the price. There are going to be some pissed off previous wooters who ordered this and never received it because Woot messed up the shipping. Perhaps these are the ones woot recovered??? hrmmm.... perhaps woot should have emailed all t hose customers whose cameras were mis-shipped and offered these to them first.

I give it an hour before this one sells out. It's going slow enough.

I bought one from moofi woot recently and it arrived without the sd card and without the lumix camera case. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Also, please note that the item arrives without the retail box. It comes in a lot of bubble wrap. The camera is also bubble wrapped while the other stuff is in a zip lock bag though mine was not zipped. Just some info fyi.

Woot made peace with the pissed-off Wooters by scouring the globe for replacements. These are probably the ones left over from that worldwide expedition. I bought this from the last time it was Wooted - a little bulky, but a great camera. Shoots excellent HD video, good sound, and it's hard to find a smaller camera with a 12x zoom.

And it's my birthday today!

Thanks for the great birthday present, Woot! I think!

We have this. Good camera.

Dropped it about 2 feet onto grass. Display no longer worked. We still used it but we had to wait to see the pictures until we loaded them onto our computer. Almost like old times.

Two weeks later, it dropped again. Display started working again.

previous woot!

Amazon

I bought one of these for my Sister's birthday gift last year and she has had a blast with it. It is arguably one of the best consumer point and shoot cameras for the price made to date. The Zoom works great even at 12x you don't need a tripod to keep the image stable.
Don't expect DSLR picture quality, but for what it cost and the fact it is pocketable, you can't go wrong. It sold out by morning last time on woot! or I would have bought one for myself then.

Example of 720p after editing and uploading to Youtube

I bought one during the previous woot and was lucky enough to be one of the people that actually received it. I gave it to my Mother and she loves taking pictures of her grandkids with it!

This is one of the best pocketable super zoom cameras. Lets just hope it doesn't ship via:

I'm in for one.
I already have a 5x optical. (LZ10)
The stabilization is great.

The only difficult thing is to focus on the moon.

Where's the Woot-Off Song? I think it's important to listen to it during a Woot-Off.

Can you tell me what happened? I bought one from moofi woot and it arrived poorly packaged and missing the sd card and the lumix camera case. Thanks for you time.

Thats good to hear, because I didn't see many posts in the discussion thread that stated the ones that didn't get theirs were actually offered replacements, many stated they just got a refund after woot! had their money for a week or so.

I need a new digital camera, considering mine is from roughly 2003. Even being refurbished, is this a worthy deal for the price? This thread makes me think it probably is... Although to be honest, I shouldn't even be spending money right now..

This is totally awesome: I really need to get to sleep, but it's a Woot-off… I'm grateful for this really, really slow seller (or huge inventory). Love you, Woot, but I love my pillow more.

How does this compare to the samsung that actually looks similar and has the same zoom and megapixels sold previously.

I was going to buy this, but considering woot has had this for sale at this same price in previous non-wootoffs, I see no real incentive to jump on it now.

We have this camera and love it. It takes excellent low-light photos and great video. The only problem is that it isn't compatible with Eye-Fi cards. You can hear wireless interference in the audio of any video you shoot.

Good photos, but really outdated video capabilities. First, they use the MOV container which really isn't used in the Windows world (asfar as I can tell, no free video editor allows it. Windows Movie Maker claims to accept it but I've had problems). Worst, it uses the very outdated Motion JPG compression. That's 1/4 as efifcient as the latest H.264 compression, meaning that you can fit 4X as much H.264 videos into the same amount of space.

I much prefer the Samsung 15x camera that is often sold here. dpreview gave the Samsung top reviews but this Panasonic a lesser review. The Samsung is also $20 less.

No regrets here. I love the 0 distance macro capability.
