The only thing that disappoints me is the lack of an external wireless antenna. To improve the signal in my office I had to actually remove the antenna from the front bezel and run the wire out the back of the unit. I've been trying to find the external antenna connector ever since (earlier models had it, and there's a blank on the back for installing it).
Not a gaming system, but for most it should be a very good buy.
I have been very happy with my p6654y(micro center) and my p6674y(Woot!) purchases. Much the same as the one on sale here. The thing that caught my eye was the absence of the external wireless connector and and external antenna that came with both of mine. I would have done the same as you and run the cable outside. Did HP really save that much money by going to an internal antenna? It also had to limit the range and direction of the signal. I'd ask what HP was thinking here, but I know it was the bottom line.

(p.s. I would be using this for gaming after a few upgrades)
HP for the Pavilion 6000 series uses a Foxconn MB using the AMD 785G chipset with integrated graphics using ATI Radeon 4200. This uses shared memory for the graphics display. I would have to say it was not designed to be a gaming system. Not that it wont play games, but for sure, the graphics would suffer. A 250 watt PS is limited on what it will support in the way of upgrades. The MB will only support up to a 95 watt processor. It would not support the hotter running processors. Ventilation would be another factor.
This particular MB was made specifically for HP so going to Foxconn to find it gets you nothing. HP has some limited info here. System specifications: p6710f and p6754y. Not a lot of info, but I hope it helps.
Don't take me wrong, I have 2 very similar models and they server me well. They are good systems, but as a gaming system, I would have doubts.

You can buy a DVI-D to HDMI converter plug. Only the video is available as DVI-D does not support audio.
