reading the reviews from amazon and all the things my fellow wooters have said here, you all sold me. In for 3, one each color. Two for the wife and me and the 3rd one for my aunt who has given me countless pieces of tupperware over the span of my lifetime filled with delicious foods...

I've been using lock n lock for years. They are great! Air tight, great on the top rack of the dishwasher. Just be careful heating them up too much in the microwave especially with red sauce.

I genuinely LOVE the quality of these, but now what do I do with all my beloved Chinese takeout containers?

rkstevens wrote:I've never used Lock & Locks but on my other plastic containers I'll just place the lid over the container off-centered so there are small gaps for the steam to escape but not a big enough opening for splatters to be a problem. I don't know if the lock hinges would get in the way or not. Otherwise, you can always resort to paper towels or paper plates to cover the containers.

I always just unlock three of the sides and leave one on to create a vent.

Love these things! My parents bought me a set of two many years ago for Christmas and I have to keep a close eye on them because every time I have people over for dinner they attempt to take home their left overs in them. Then it will take forever to get them back. Like anything else, if you do use them in the microwave to heat up anything acidic like anything with tomatoes or bbq sauce it will scar the inside of plastic. That is just the nature of plastic vs. anything acidic.

I am addicted to these little guys. They keep food fresher longer, container is truly ari tight. They don't warp, they don't hold odor. Stop thinking about it and just buy it already. Last time you waited they were sold out, because smart people like me didn't wait to hop on a good deal. Get em, you'll love em, you can thank me later.

Ewww... Gross! If you saw the inside of the refrigerator at my office, you'd never consider putting the outside of your storage container anywhere near your food! ;-)

I have used Lock & Lock for years. Can keep produce fresh in fridge for weeks. The nesting (stacking) is important. You can go from freezer to microwave, so great for leftovers. I use handled one for lunch box. Water bottle is new for me--first time I've seen that design. I recommend this 150%. And for $9 for 8 rectangle boxes, they're cheaper than holiday cookie containers. Use them to give home made holiday treats to neighbors.

Great info, thanks! I've been wanting new pantry canisters and did some math on the last set (1 cup of flour ~ 5 oz, to 15 c ~ 5 lbs) and determined they wouldn't work. My math said this set would, but nice to have confirmation!

In for three, gonna reform my pantry! I keep a LOT of different flours and other dry goods on hand.

That would make them unacceptable, and necessitate a return. If they aren't air tight from day one, they aren't any good.

Does everyone else's say their name? Is Woot doing a mass replace where each user reads their own name in the writeup? I can't tell because my name IS Jennifer.

Hey Jen, just so you know they don't go around erasing and putting in others name. However, they did cross out 'your' name in the original post. I think they were afraid of you! You had the grandiose idea that they had put your name in there specifically for you. Based on that I think they worried what else you thought and would you become a woot stalker...LOL..it's all in good fun Jen...

I wish LnL would make flour/sugar/corn meal storage containers so that the opened (or unopened) bag could be slipped inside then lock the lid and store in the upright position. Guess i'll have to visit their website to make that suggestion.

Q: Does this work with the Mac?

A: Yes, but, only with the Mac Mini. When not in use, both the 15 cup and the 18.8 cup Lock & Lock can be used to store your disconnected Mac Mini to keep it dry in the event of a hurricane, flood, or plumbing disaster. (The orange lid also adds an attractive accent color to the otherwise bland Mac Mini design for storage.)

Any one know the plastic recycling number of these?

You should only buy 1,2,3 or 5 if used for food. I think these are 5 but i could not confirm this for sure.

Once you use lock&lock you will never want to use anything else. 3 Sets are not enough. Since I started using these little fella's a few months ago, I have gotten at least 12 different sets. I am redoing my kitchen. You need to order more, or tell your sisters and your mother that you moved and are on a secret mission which forbids you telling them where you are. Yes you will love these containers so much you might give up your family just to own these.

We recently had a pantry moth infestation. Those moths got into everything included unopened bags & plastic jars of rice. I've got some contains that look like Lock & Lock and the moths got into them too.

Only the Lock & Lock kept them out. I liked Lock & Lock before that, but now I'm a fan.

I bought some of these at the grocery store a few years ago for carrying sandwiches, yogurt, salad dressing to work. They work great and still look almost like new.

I second the instruction to remove the seal when you clean them. Otherwise you will have little moldy, icky things growing around the lid. I just use a fork or a butter knife to ease up the edge of the ring and it comes right out.

I only bought two sets and now I wish I had bought three.
