Just wanted to say thanks to Gunnerp245 and anyone else who has gone back to the June and May discussions and posted updates there. I don't know how people found those discussions, but hopefully most have moved to this discussion or even better; moved on to Mobile Read.
I'll wait til this weekend(Oct. 1st or 2nd) and re-post the list of links. If I missed any links that should be added to this list, I would be glad to do so.

I guess there are a number of ifs. Remember that enTourage does not exist, so no "company" development is being done. EnTourage did release the kernel source code, so groups like xda-developers can work on it.
They have to get the clocking up to 1GHz(it was under-clocked to 800MHz). They have to integrate the reader code. They have made some 2.2 progress but I'm not sure where 2.3 is at this point.

nikolawannabe wrote:After plugging mine into the USB port on my computer while attempting to authorize with Adobe, my Edge bricked itself. I tried to re-flash, but without luck. It freezes at boot.
Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just keep trying to flash it, or try to send it back? I liked the device (after upgrading to Ermine) for reading quite well, until it stopped working.
First I've never heard of this happening, but then again I may have missed a post or two out of the 872 posts so far.
Make sure that you put the update.zip file back on the device you are flashing with. It gets erased, at least after a successful flash. If this is the same device you used the first time, it will have to be copied back onto it.

This is a good place to start. It not only tells you how to get past registration, but how to upgrade and where to get more help, after woot!.

Further how do I get it to my PE? I did move the file to a download folder on the PE, but it does not open on my regular computer as a ".zip" file, so how do I get it to upgrade my PE?
Any help or suggestions you can give would be appreciated.
I believe most of your answers can be found here. It also explains a torrent, hopefully in terms that all can understand.

It had obviously been used/opened before..
-not in protective case (that styrofoamish looking sleeve was UNDER the unit)
-screen protectors missing
-outer plastic protectors wrinkled and misaligned
-wires/charger haphazardly bunched together
-missing stylus
I contact Woot and after going back and forth about "those things don't prove it was used" and "do you know what a stylus looks like" (they even sent me pics of a stylus...ohemgee)
They choose send me a replacement stylus which I received yday and I finally turn the unit on - I try to set up a wifi connection and it says "Wifi Connection Name" not in range.
Anything I can do about receiving a used unit when I purchased new???
Not sure what to tell you. I haven't had to exchange or return an item with Woot!. I did purchase a PE from another deal a day company that was in a similar state including the missing stylus; returned it and since they didn't have any other new ones(or stylus), refunded in full. Went to a different deal a day company and it did have the stylus but the covers were as you described. The didn't have any more new ones either. The second company offered two choices; return for refund or keep and get a partial refund. I chose the latter.
I didn't give them my answer until I had fully checked it out, but 46 years of computer experience told me what to look for. I ran it for 72 hours checked out all features before keeping it. There were no scratches or other physical damage. When I buy things anymore, I document everything with photos, starting with the box still on the porch through the package being opened. One unfortunate thing, enTourage never sealed or shrink wrapped their boxes.
People return things for many reasons, not all are because of actual hardware problems. It could be a reason as small as the wrong color. Trying to determine what the reason was is the hard part.
The rest will be up to you and Woot! to work out.
