Well I didn't order before the changed description. I read the description early on, was thinking about it when I got a last call tweet and decided to order 2, only to now find out you changed the description. Woot only sells one item a day (unless a wootoff) so I didn't think there was a need to re-read the description. Everyone should be given the same options.

Their order status page says: "Again, your order will typically ship within 5 business days." That would be 7 days from the 16th in real life. So I would estimate they will ship by Friday the 23rd. Notices often go out later, so you can track by reference on Fedex.

Woot's shipping policy is to ship within 5 business days. The GPS sold on friday the 16th. That would make Monday the 19th the first business day and Friday the 23rd as the ship by date. I expext it to be shipped on Friday but not picked up by the carrier until monday. Then Woot will most likely use that extreemly "fast" Smart Post to ship it. That should only add about 5, 6, 10, 15 or more business days to the shipping time. I expect to see mine sometime in October.

Got mine but when I connect to TomTom Home the first time it says the "Latest Map Guarantee" has expired. Your ad said it has this feature which is why I bought it (I have an older TomTom with old maps). Map on the unit could be 3 years old. Very disappointed.

Received my TomTom XXL 540M open box from No BetterDeal.com yesterday. Opened it up and it was pretty darn new looking minus the seal on the box being broken. Still had all the protective film on it as well as the cords being factory tied.

I just plugged it into the my trusty PC and it linked up to my new TomTom account and instantly told me I had a new update for maps available. Currently DL'ing the 1,500+MB file.

I ordered with the original (everything included) description. I never got the email explaining the error, so I asked about it (day after the sale) & was told that it didn't include the maps/Traffic data.

So...I cancelled the order. Today, I see it shipped....so yipppeee Woot must've fixed their error and made good on the original description.

For anyone doing a map update on one of these, the install process took forever!

I thought it froze it hung for so long and I aborted... well that was bad as I was mapless, deleted the incomplete data and luckily was able to get the new map from the home page.

Still took forever to install!

Got mine Saturday, and yup - latest map update had expired. I went ahead and bought after the description issues (still a great deal). Had planned to sign up for a year of map updates and then probably get another unit if the price was right, but you have to be at the latest map to sign up for the update. TomTom gave me a cut-rate to get there, but still. Not what I expected.

I called TomTom support about the expired map guarantee. They first told me that because Woot was not a certified re-seller I would not be getting a free map update. Once I asked to speak with a manager they came back and approved it only after I emailed them a copy of my receipt from woot.

We have talked to TomTom support and they have assured us that they will assist Woot customers with the maps. If the receipt doesn't work, get a name and case number and email service@woot.com for further assistance.

I emailed woot and they said to call Tom Tom. They told me to email them the receipt and then they sent the new map. All taken care of.

No, I just got mine today and updated the maps without any problem. I don't see why the unit doesn't come with updated maps but oh well.
I think it's a piece of junk and updated maps won't help it though. It's probably best just to send it back right away and don't even bother with trying to update it.
When it's first started it wants my home address and then it won't accept the address! It says there is no such address then substitutes another one across town and then won't let me change it!
I wonder why the poooonys who designed and programmed this piece of junk never tried it to see if it worked before they started selling it?

Everyone should probably send them back for a refund, cancel the order or refuse delivery. Mine doesn't work either. I just bought it because it was cheap but I don't see how anyone can use it without being able to enter street numbers. It first asked for my home address but said there was no such number and put in a different one across town. If I want to use it to plot a route and try to put in a street address it says there is no such address and substitutes 8899 instead. Also there is no way to put in North or South such as 500 S. The thing seems to be pretty much useless. Do all of you just use these to watch the map move as you drive around and look at it to see what is close by or what?

Just received the TomTom.. for the money it is just OK... not great.. But what really gets me is I get a tracking number for Fed Ex, and it comes to my door by USPS.. So what the heck good was the tracking number.. even states in tracking info , passed to USPS which is not what I paid for... anyway like it said for the money the GPS is just fine....also took a long time for it to even be shipped... whats up with that...

donh't bet on tomtom for anything, i ordered a new case for this from them, and now when I try to return it , they won't accept their own receipt to return the case,.heads up their butts I think
