It's HEEERE! Mine was scheduled for delivery tomorrow but went from FedEx to the PO through last night and arrived today. So far, this is a cool device, and FAST! Now, I need to get it to use my phone's Internet connection over Bluetooth, which is in the phone's menu as an option.

gotok wrote:I have tethered with BT using the DUN bluetooth profile. If you hope to do the same with this Samsung, I think you are out of luck. I'm pretty sure the DUN profile is not supported.

This does seem to be part of the problem. I have paired the two devices, but the only "bluetooth profile" available on the phone from the Samsung is Data Transfer. Other devices such as my laptop have several options on their comparable lists on the phone. Is this likely a hardware limitation, or maybe do I just need to find the right program and/or drivers for the Samsung? Thanks.

Finally got it today and enjoying it. Now my question and excuse me for being ignorant in this field. I have a zune and use the program mp3 tag to convert howard stern to podcasts so i can listen and pause and resume. I don't know how to do this with this new device. It will let me drap the files already converted on my computer through mp3 but they do not pause and resume. they always start at the beginning and as some of you know these shows are 4+ hours. I downloaded listen podcast player but can't get the files into that program..i think that is just for podcast feeds..anyway, help would surely be appreciated.

I got mine the other day. The Korean model.
updated no prob.

Got Skype to work but only on the back camera? Weird. Anyone ever try QIK?

As far as the battery goes, it took 9 hrs to charge but I've been using it for like 18 hours with out a charge and it's still at 60%.

For those who already has received their package, I envy you all. I am waiting for mine to be delivered. FedEx finally delivered it to my local postal office this afternoon. My estimated time of delivery is September 28th. I guess the package has to go through sorting before it goes out for delivery. Somebody said sorting takes 1-2 days? Hope they sort it today and out for delivery tomorrow. I am waiting endlessly.

Anybody notice this? I looked up the battery usage statistics, and just like my cell phone, the biggest power user was the cell standby. Except of course this is not a phone, so WHY would that be??????

Skype doesn't work, Fring - the front camera does not show, only the back camera does.

Anyone tried Qik?

I'm very impressed. Not nearly as bulky as i was expecting. Lighter than I thought it would be too. Screen could be a bit more crisp with respect to fonts. GrooveIP works beautifully for making calls over IP (it actually has an earpiece speaker for this purpose). Very responsive. Overall I'm very happy with it.

It will compliment my Galaxy Tab nicely.

Can you receive calls on your GrooveIP? Mine seems to only make calls and not receive. Thanks.

Most podcasts are already in mp3 format. Are you using a program to record the Stern stream since that might record or snag an odd format.

The Clark Howard show used to have some wonky podcasts but I think I could still pause and resume them. The track length was always screwed up and I discovered they were encoding the podcast mp3 file at a variable bit rate. That was unusual and made trouble for how players calculate the track length. They switched to a specific bit rate and things smoothed out for many listeners.

Do you think that someone, at some point, could extract the Gingerbread Rom out of the Galaxy Player to flash our Galaxy S 5.0s?

I would like to have Skype work correctly.

The packaging is in Spanish, and the included cable fits North American and some South American plugs; Russia, Switzerland and South Korea all use a different plug (Europlug) with round connectors. The only references I can find to product code (YP-G70CW/TTT) online are Portuguese sites, and they seem to be referring to a product available in Paraguay... though curiously, no Paraguayan sites, which would be in Spanish. To add another odd wrinkle, Paraguay also uses the round-pronged Europlug.

And this all adds up to... I still don't know where these were originally destined for. Probably either Mexico, or one of the countries along the northern coast of South America.

My head hurts a little.

Got mine yesterday afternoon. This is my first dance with Android, and I'm liking it. It's a lot more like running an actual computer than is iOS, which suits me just fine.

Everything runs fine, wifi worked right outta the box. Haven't tested gps yet. The only complaints I have are that the earbuds aren't for me (though they sound reasonably okay--I just have GIANT earholes, apparently, so they don't fit very well) and the usb cable is about 9-12" too short.

Mine was delivered a couple of days ago. So far I like it much more than I do my ipod touch. I had a Nook Color rooted with CM7 but it was too big and heavy. This is perfect. One problem, I can't find an ap to view my Yahoo calendar. Anyone know of one. Also I have a silicon case and screen protector ordered from ebay.

nope..Mine works great. It might be an app you just installed that doesn't work properly on this device. Try back tracking and uninstall an app at a time until you figure out which might be the culprit. At least thats what I would do.

Can someone help me? I received my Samsung Galaxy S GB 5" Wi-Fi yesterday, and well lets just say I am a little upset. Called for tech support through Samsung they have no idea about this product. The issue I am having right out of the gate is I need to change the language setting to english, so I will be able to understand what to do. Not sure where to go what to do, and lets just say the owner's manual ain't much help either. Product looks great but if I can't use it whats the point.

I got my screen protector from Skinomi. I have Skinomi screen protectors on my other tablet and love it. Fingerprints don't show as much and seems very scratch resistant. Compared to a cheap screen protector that I tried before, it feels much nicer to the touch. They also have skins you can get but I like the looks of the device so just got the screen protector. The one I have for this does not seem to be the correct size, holding in portrait, it covers side to side perfectly, but aligning it to the bottom, it does not reach the top, but it is very close.
http://www.skinomi.com/sagaswi50tap.html
Also you can usually get a 25% off coupon if you search online. I found two different ones you can try. "get25" or "skinomi25"

Some people complain about them, just make sure you follow the directions and they work nice. Right now it does not look great on my device, but it was like that on my other tablet as well. After 24 hours (maybe more) it cleared up and looked clear. Also, my other tablet had a very reflective screen and it cut down on that after I installed this screen protector.

Yeah I'm having a similar problem. I can make calls without a problem, but for incoming calls I get the message to press 1 to accept the call even though in settings the box is checked for this to not happen. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but when I select 1 to connect the call the other person can't hear me, but I can hear them. Is your speak volume very low? I have to use headphones to hear the other person even though the speak volume is all the way up. I e-mail to ask if these problems can be corrected, still waiting for response.

Hi mdyoung216, Mine doesn't even ring for incoming calls. Only strange thing I noticed with my Samsung is that when I received it, it was configured for another language, Danish or Swedish I believe.

Mine came with a foregin language, too - Scandinavian or Polish. I will try to describe what I did -
1. From bottom icons - choose the rightmost icon which looks like a square window with 4 panes (that would be "Applications" in English)
2. Next, look for an icon that looks like a gear ("Settings" in English)
3. A list of icons with descriptions will appear. Scroll down to an icon that looks like a piece of white paper with letter "A" on the middle. ("Locale and text")
4. Choose first option ("Select locale") and click on "English (United States)" or another language you need.
Hope this helps.

This is a setting in Google Voice (Call Screening, under the calls tab in the settings), not in GrooveIP, right? It still gives you the prompt even though you've disabled it in your settings for Google Voice?

edit: this is odd because that's all server side stuff. do you have a cell phone/home phone set up to receive your GV forwards as well? Does it still ask for you to press 1 on those as well?

No, never heard of xda. I just distrust posts by people with no woots.

Must times they post links to other sites with competing products just to direct traffic to them. I report them every time I see them and a while later they are gone.

This time I didn't report, because he wasn't pushing a link for a product. Now, do you vouch for him as being legit?

I wont say it is impossible, but is less than likely that someone takes the time to join woot and not buy anything. Instead join a discussion of a product he doesn't have.

I don't know, maybe I'm being paranoid and a prick, but I kept getting burned when I used to be a nice guy.
