This week, we're going to explore the mystical and troublesome world of haiku, Woot style.

Inkycatz, remind me about haiku?
Traditional haiku is comprised of seventeen syllables in three phrases of 5, 7 and 5 respectively.

Some common practices are:
▪ Use of three (or fewer) lines of 17 or fewer syllables
▪ Use of a cut (sometimes indicated by a punctuation mark) to implicitly contrast and compare two events, images, or situations.

Do we have a theme this week?
We sure do! Because we love our Baskets of Cats, we would like to see what sort of haiku they can inspire. Will you pick a singular item to focus on? The laments of never having gotten one? The anticipation of delivery? Up to you!

What's in it for me?
Fame, glory, the ability to make smugface at your fellow community members when they count syllables incorrectly, quality postings, etc.

This sounds boring and/or dumb.
It's a game. Games are fun. So you have to ask yourself why do you hate fun? There will also be other games.

Okay, I got it and I'll at least give it a try. Now what?
Now we sharpen our pencils, warm up our keyboards, put on our thinking caps, employ other nonsense phrases and write!
