Shelf Life - from a different manufacturer's website:

How long is the shelf life of glow sticks / glow products?
Depending on how they are packaged the shelf life is 1 to 4 years. Items in foil packaging will last for up to 4 years and bulk items (no foil packaging) have usually just over a 1 year shelf life.

How should I store un-activated glow sticks / glow products?
Glow light products should be stored in a cool dry place in their original container or package. Heat and humidity will shorten the shelf life of glow light products.

Bonus Tip:
Here is a tip to get an extra half hour out of your glow light stick: To reactivate a "dead" glow light stick or glow light product you just put it into boiling water for about 30 seconds and it will glow again for up to half an hour.

Those things are bracelets, which don't emit as much light.

In for 3!!

I'm gonna hand these out for Halloween from our redneck hay wagon! The police love me, I have a small tractor I pull a wagon with. Seating for the parents to keep an eye on the little ones, spiked cider to keep the adults warm and happy.

Maybe the glow stick will push me into this year's Halloween episode of COPS....

In for 2. If no one comes Trick or Treating at my apartment, then my niece and nephew will use these as they race around my parents' basement.

After you indicate that you want to buy one, you will be taken to another screen which asks you how many you want. The most you can purchase on Woot is 3 of anything.

Could be a little more explicit, but I think this statement in the "Features" part of the description says it all --->

"■Each Glow Stick has a lanyard and hanger for easy wearability or attachment"

Sounds to me like 2 glow sticks, 2 hangers, and 2 lanyards in each 2-pack. Sometimes the pictures are only worth 998 words...

Yeah, I just watched a couple of YouTube videos and it looks fun. I'm a bit of a wimp, however, so I may use the wimpy method of boiling the sticks in water instead of microwaving.

My daughter prefers the bracelets because they're "magic wands".. and I got these from deals.woot for $10 for 100..

http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/f1d59ddd-34f3-4ea5-8d1e-2cb447e7e8fe/100-8-glow-stick-bracelets-mixed-colors#7

besides, a 4" x .38" glowstick, is *not* a proper glowstick anyway.

I believe that the 1 year shelf life applies to the ones that are wrapped in transparent cellophane. Light apparently degrades the chemicals. These are wrapped in mylar or foil, and are supposed to have a shelf life of 4 years, according to another post.

Awesome. I can always restock my glow sticks. This seems like a great deal.

P.S. - I hate to be that guy. It is very tragic that Steve Jobs died, but he has nothing to do with glow sticks, so I am confused why people are bringing him into the equation.

I was thinking the same thing and I think my kids would have more fun with the bracelet style because they can put them together and make little glowing things.

In for 3 to give out at Halloween. I will also pick up another 100 pk of the glow bracelets from amazon. As for some of the other comments about the bracelets being crap I purchased the USglow ones in the past and with three small kids beating the crap out of them not one was a dud or broke. Some lasted longer than the others but they were well worth the money. I can’t comment about other brands but I was totally happy with the USglow sticks.

I put glow sticks in my hookah to give it that "there's more than tobacco in my hookah feeling." (But alas...I only put hookah tobacco in my hookah.)

They're also a great thing to have in my dog's bag...if we're out late at the dog park...I can tie one on his collar for an instant canine location device.
