Stupid purchasing department.

Typical requisition: Send purchasing an email with some key words that says what I need and from where. Sent such email yesterday, requesting parts, sourcing from company's "preferred vendor" rather than my preferred source. Purchasing emails back this morning with the "great news" that since I want to buy from the (overpriced) preferred vendor, I have the "privilege" of skipping past the purchasing department and ordering directly through the vendor's (fuuuugly and unintuitive) website myself.

Joy. So instead one email and getting it done yesterday, I now have a whole series of emails wherein I have to register with a website and jump through all sorts of online hoops so that I can have the convenience of spending my time doing their job.

Lesson learned from this: Screw the preferred vendor arrangement. My time is worth a lot more than the few dollars "saved" by getting supplies there.

Now, less than a year later, the house is for sale.......for 140 grand more than the owner paid!
The renter didn't do a hundred grand worth of improvements. He cut back shrubs and got things working.

Right now you can get a very livable house for that much money. This is a total handy man special.

Seems to me if he gets what he's asking or near it, then it's all the better for home values in your area. Personal differences notwithstanding, it sounds like a win.

The value of the houses is more dependent on location and school district.
So far every run down house has been fixed up by whoever buys it, except for one rental and one house owned by son's friend.

His mom is a pack rat. Claims she is like that for her job (street vender), but she is nuts. Travels for months on end. All over the world to buy stuff.
Didn't even know what grade her daughter was in when we asked once!
You would think she was making a wonderful living off her sales, but it just pays enough for her to travel.

We doesn't have one of those. The best I've found is Rosina. Not that they're fantastic, but they're a lot better than Armour.

Armour are awful! Mama Lucia isn't too bad. Never seen Rosina.

Wegman's store brand stuff is usually pretty good. I wish there was one closer, but that's a 30 minute drive in GOOD traffic...Sigh.

Wegman's does have good store-brand stuff. One of the few perks when we lived in NYS.
