in other news, kid is still in the hospital. still no actual diagnosis, though they ruled out a few of the worst scenarios. looks like it may be a few more days while the docs run some pre-emptive antibiotics through the IV.

One of son's friends was an acting major and went back for a masters to teach. Just in time for the schools to lay off teachers.

For the record I know lots of unemployed or underemployed engineers (although I've thought about studying some when/if I go back to school... was going to do that this year, but Orc got laid off and I lost the cheap credits). Not so much on accountants, but if I had to be an accountant I'd probably go postal.

Any one sew enough to have a specific table for it?

My mom uses a rubbermaid craft table she picked up a few years ago, but apparently they're not made anymore. I want something sturdy, slightly higher than a desk. All the stuff I've found is either $1000+, or looks like it's on toothpicks with reviews that say things like 'great table, a little wobbly'. Being a little wobbly is pretty much my definition of a NOT great table.

that kind always smells like pancakes to me.

At a former job, every morning most of our group would ask "Okay, who has pancakes?". Turns out our temp was eating oatmeal, but too shy to admit it was here.

We were just glad when we figured out what it was - we all thought we were going crazy!

I doubt saccharine, I think that was banned in the 80's, but artifically sweetened and flavored.
I was sceptical but it actually tastes pretty good.

I used a folding table and it wobbled horribly, but my friends usually use old desks. A few have small tables that had past lives in appartments and small houses. I don't know anyone that has a sewing table that started life as such, sorry.
