joyner wrote:Good morning everybody! Cataract surgery went well. The only complaint I had was the tape on the shield I wore right after the surgery and will wear at night for a week. It is amazing that the surgery can be done with no pain. I have some swelling so it will take awhile before my vision stabilizes.
You'll be amazed at the improvement - especially how much more vividly colors will appear!!

Application development and support. Or, more simply put, computer geekery.

Sigh...Sometimes I wonder about people. when given a list of instructions, WHY do some people think it's ok to do them out of order?

I forget where I read about it -- but the while vivid color thing apparently is due to the fact that some people actually have receptors (rods? cones?) in their eyes that can process light at the edge of the ultraviolet range. You just don't know if you have them or not until after cataract surgery, since the natural cornea filters out so much of the UV.
Not everyone gets the vivid colors after surgery though. Apparently an easy way to see if you have the "super" vision is to look at a lit blacklight bulb. If it looks like a standard fluorescent to the naked eye, but is dark when viewed through a UV filtering lens, then you just might be one of the vivid folks.
Guess my opthamologist didn't feel it necessary to explain that to me. But all the folks I've spoken with experienced the same thing. Perhaps colors seem more vivid simply because the world had looked so foggy prior to surgery.

Perhaps the first instruction should be, "Follow these instructions in order."

I give up. Trying to get someone to follow a numbered list of instructions, that we went over YESTERDAY, and complete failure.
Sigh.

It's a test script to confirm that a new report has the right formatting. I didn't write it, I'm helping with the 'dry run'.
I'm not optimistic for the real deal.
But the frustrating thing is that we went over everything that he's having problems with yesterday. Didn't even make it to any of the 'new' steps.
Sigh.

The person running the test script is the BA for the application being tested.
