Howdy!
Had fun yesterday, goofed off and shopped. Bought all the Mission Impossibles and then watched them last night, went to the 4th one this morning. Not bad.
Treadmill made it up the stairs, but was a big enough PITA that SO is not talking to me now.
Yay.

Physio peeps say he neeeds another 2 months. His insurance runs out tuesday. They don't really have any money and aren't on medicaid. We can help but he's not going to be happy about any of it.

He applied for supplimental medicare but can't qualify until he has been out of a care facility for 3 months.
Medicaid requires that you have no assets for 3 months before you apply. Everything they have (which is not that much) has to be given away or sold.

He is retired from retail and that company screwed all the retirees out of their health insurance some years ago so he has no secondary insurance.

Yup. It sucks. This place is inexpensive yet will cost about $6500 a month.

He would require 24 hour home care at this point and medicare won't cover it.
In 2 months we're hoping he'll be able to get up on his own power.

That's why we don't shop at Sears.

It was $5,000 a month for my grandmother. That was over 20 years ago.
They charge what medicare pays which is $140 a day.

Morning!
Was given a lottery scratch ticket this morning--Candy Cane Cash. It smelled like peppermint when scratched. Didn't win anything, but got a grin from the smell.
