LOL no way. First off, they're asking about the Tritton AX Pro (top of the line), not the AX 180 (bottom end).

The Tritton AX Pro and Astro A40 are the best gaming headsets. Turtle Beaches are compromises.

That being said, these seem like a good deal for the price, but I would never buy wireless that uses batteries.

I got these a few months ago and they are great! not just for games but for movies as well. I actually use them more for just watching movies than anything else but I do play call of duty a bit as well and they sound awesome. they may look or feel kind of cheap but I have two young daughters that have thrown, sat, kicked, etc. and they don't have any problems.

you can hook them up to a computer but you need a 1/8 audio jack to rca or the headphone to red and white audio cable. sorry I'm not sure exactly what it's called

for tv I've found the best is to plug the optical cable into the tv optical out not the xbox this will give you audio for whatever is playing on the tv not just the xbox. also you can still make use of the hdmi without having to buy an extra adapter or ghetto rig it.

plug the power cable into a usb port on the tv (most hd tv's have them even if it's just for technical support. it will still work) this way the base station will power on and off with your tv.

Not perfect, but pretty good. You'll need a lot of AAAs, the build quality is low, replacement parts are expensive, and sometimes there are VERY loud interference cracks in the sound.

The pros are, they're pretty comfortable, sound great, and are an improvement over any TV speakers.

They are a good headset. I own a pair of the X4 and x41. I like my X4 the best even though they are only 5.1. X4 are more comfortable for long gaming sessions. They both have bad battery life. They both have interference from wireless routers X4 not as much. Cable that connects to headset to controller beings to crackle the longer you have them. Over all I would find a pair of the X4 or just save up and get the XP500 programmable blue tooth version. I have used and they are the best. X41 good price for factory refurb not so much for permanent headset.

I have a pair of the DX11's and I absolutely love them. Though I will be getting a pair of these to rid my set up of wires.

I have had a pair of X11's since Black Ops came out a year ago and they are awesome. I bought these x41's even though my X11's still work great after being kept on the ground around my feet for a year. They held up well to jostling around on the ground. The only weak part is the cable that plugs into the mic on the xbox, it gets finicky and will static when moving around. Don't know if the X41's have the same cable, but I don't care, 7.1 sound means NOBODY will be sneaking up behind me in MW3! BWAHAHAHA!

Does anyone know whether these are refurbished by Turtle Beach or a 3rd party? I'm probably in for 1 either way. I've been waiting on the release of the Tritton Warhead set next month to decide between these, TB XP500 and the Tritton Warheads. At this price I can probably resell these at a similar price if I decide on the XP500 or Warhead next month.

I've used the X41's for a few gaming sessions. They're almost as good as my older X4's. The X4's are a bit more comfortable and have slightly better sound, but for $80 I can't pass these up. I'm picking up a couple pairs of these just to re-sell or gift to my cheap-ass friends who probably don't even deserve them.

As for battery life I know the X41's are pretty decent. I use Sanyo Eneloops in my X4's and they will last for weeks. I think the shortest I needed to swap out the batteries was after a week or two of gaming for 4-6 hours per day.

it is weird, now that i am checking my previous buys from woot, i see that i bought using canadian credit card but today they are not accepting it, the problem is that they are asking for my US postal code, they have screwed up, i am mentioning that bill me in my canadian address but they keep asking me for a state in US. Duh!

i had em for a hole 2 days and hated them... sound quality aint all that great.. and they are not the best headset for xbox .. i returned these and went for the astros a40... but there is a major price difference but for this price they are a pretty good deal... tho remember u still got plug a chat cable to ur mic so they are not truly wireless

I own this headset and it is absolutely great headset. I originally purchased it for 150$. then my girlfriend bought me new astro gamer wireless headset
The turtle beach headset has more bass sound very clear. but yes it picks up wireless interference...very very little. For the 80$ vs 300$ My Astros cost. The turtle beaches win Hands down. I love my Astros but Still have to deal with Cords. The X41 You dont. If I could pull my Turtle beaches out of the Closet and get my 300$ back I would. GREAT HEADSET... clear and lots off Bass. Do not mount the base near Wireless devices such as a router. EVEN with minor wireless interference And I do stress minor......i fully recommend these. Dont wait...buy em. Get em for ur kids for xbox. Oh....they require batteries.

Easy solve to the battery problem: by a rechargeable kit.

I had these and recently upgraded to the px5 which retail $250. The only main difference between the x41 and the px5 is that
1. You don't need to use the talk-back cable for chat, which allows you to play completly wireless with no annoying wires.
And 2. You can program the px5 and make adjustments to what you hear to best fit your gamin style.

I've been using turtlebeach headsets for two years now and they are amazing. This is perfect timing for the MW3 release at midnight tonight!

We just returned 2 sets of the PX3 to Turtle Beach (and paid the 15% restocking fee!). The PX3 isn't fully compatible with Xbox360. I JUST ORDERED two sets of the X41s at full price after reading all of the reviews (again).

I'm buying this set for me (and maybe the kids won't outscore me any more....yeah right!).

It's worth noting that only the newest version of the Xbox 360 (the shiny black one that is compatible with Kinect) has an Optical TOSLINK "out" port on it.

So if you have a pre-Kinect Xbox 360, you'll need some separate setup to get Optical TOSLINK functionality.

Here's the ports on the back of an older Xbox 360:

Here's the ports on the back of a newer, Kinect-ready Xbox360:

And finally here's "old" and "new" (old - left, new - right):

I was thinking the exact same thing. I have the 31's right now also, thinking about upgrading. One positive I believe is that there is not cord going from the headset to your controller for use of the mic on the 31's. (AFTER FURTHER REVIEW ON YOUTUBE, THERE IS STILL A MIC CABLE THAT GOES TO YOUR CONTROLLER FROM THE HEADSET...MY BAD)

This is crazy. I don't care how good these headphones are or what they cost elsewhere. You can buy the base Xbox360 itself on EBAY for this price. No headphones are worth as much as the device they are plugged into, sorry. Woot' ya later!

Refurbs are seldom done by the maker. That is the territory of a separate, and sometimes unreliable, segment of the retail machine. It will vary, as many Wooters know.

That's not true. These headphones still require the cable from the remote to the headset to use the chat function.

I own these and I paid a lot more ($200) when they came out two years ago. For $79 these are a no brainer purchase for even the casual gamers. Sound quality is great and you would be surprised at the difference in the level of immersion it provides. I had to replay some of my favorite games and it was definitely a refreshing experience.

My only two gripes are a) The mic cord gets in the way and is fairly easy to break, though replacements are cheap, about $10 b) earcups, while comfortable, will get your ears hot and sweaty if you play for an extended period of time.

I recommend you get some rechargeable AAA batteries.

Turtle Beach Headphones take gaming to the next level. They have great surround sound and mic sensativity. Just make sure you turn your tv down to cancel any feedback when playing online. Can not go wrong with these

This is the best headset that I have ever owned. As others have noted, there are problems with interference sometimes. When the batteries start to run low, the connection also starts to degrade. (Just buy a set of rechargeable batteries and swap em out).

The headset is incredibly light! I've played for 10-12 hours with these on (occasional 5 min break for stuff, but still) and they have never bothered me.

Optical is a must. The sound is just noticeably better using optical instead of standard AV.

You CAN use this with a PC, however, you will need a special connector. You will need an AV to headphone adapter to plug your computer speakers into the receiver. OR you can find a USB to optical and use that instead (20 bucks on amazon). SECOND, you need to have a 2.5mm to 3.5mm microphone jack to plug the headset into the microphone section. The cable that comes with the headset is a 2.5 to 2.5 to connect it to the xbox controller.

I got mine for a lot more than this, and I would highly recommend anyone who want a headset to grab this. You won't be disappointed.
(Original retail a couple of years ago: 200)

I've been holding out (financially) to get the DX11s at a decent price - they are the wired version of this product for $130. Several of the people that I play online with have today's product, the X41s, and they swear by them! I'm jumping all over this deal! I'm sure my wife will be appreciative as well.

I have the TB Earforce PX21 + DSS for PS3(nothing ps3 specific, runs via Optical(game) + USB(chat) ). It HISSES so bad i have to take the headphones off when it is quiet. TERRIBLE in my opinion for a setup that costs over 150 bux.

Can anyone that has these comment on a hiss/no hiss when there is no sound coming across?

Awesome Headphones. Get a optical splitter on ebay for a few dollars and run seperate otical cables from cable box, xbox and pc or blueray. Most receivers and plasmas optical out works but does not carry through the dolby surround signal. I love these headphones and the ease of using aaa baterries for the headset and usb power for the base makes it very easy to use. Recharbeable aaa batteries are definately a must though.

I had a set of these for quite awhile, it's a good headset, especially at this price. I've since moved on to the Astro wireless mixamp as I wanted something I could use my nice Ultrasone headphones with.

The positional audio is very good with these, makes it very easy to hear someone coming up behind you in COD. (caveat: make sure the 360 is connected to the base station with an optical cable and set to 5.1) Overall sound is pretty good, you can get better sounding headphones for the price if you know where to look but not with a mic built in or wireless.

It does go through batteries fairly quickly, I recommend rechargeables for use with it. Also it will interfere/get interference from wireless routers on the 2.4Ghz band. If your router is 5Ghz you have nothing to worry about, if not, try to keep some distance between the two. Having a 2.4Ghz router nearby will create some occasional popping noises and hissing if it is too close.

If you can deal with the batteries and potential interference this is one of the best 360 headsets out there.
