I tried out my buddy's X41's, and those things are bananas. Also,the mic covering foam slips off often, as many have reported.

Does interference from other wi-fi devices cause that hiss as well, or is it primarily interference from the router I should keep in mind?

When I had the x31's I would get interference only when I maxed out my downstream with newsgroup downloads to a nearby computer. The interference was way more annoying than the low level hiss since you can only hear the hiss when there is no sound output. I have since bought a dual band router and switched everything over to 5 ghz so it shouldn't interfere with this headset.

Like the order page shows, the items will ship within 5 business days, usually 3 to 4.

I bought a second pair of these X41's for backup/xmas.

If I had a guess, all of these refurbs are likely users that didn't know how to relieve interference problems. Don't just assume they are broken if you hear the cracking/popping, try adjusting the location of your router/the X41 base station/Your laptop/Your phone, etc. etc. etc..

Hi all,

I don't work for woot, but I've bought enough stuff here to basically have the process down.

Expect it to be about two weeks (or a little more) from date of purchase to receive your items. You'll get the shipping info around the 5th or 6th business day after ordering. They use smartpost, so it's agonizing to watch it crawl across the country. The usual travel time to me in Virginia is 4-5 days. I'd expect to receive the headset around November 21-22. It's going to suck to wait that long because this is an item that a lot of folks are really eagerly waiting for with all of the new games coming out, but at least you can know what to expect.

Per the warranty, Woot has always been top notch about honoring things that were either broken or missing for me. I think I've even had an item that worked for a week before breaking, and Woot was great about getting it replaced for me. I've never had to deal with the actual manufacturer for any Woot item issues.

I just plugged mine in and played a round of MW3. So far so good. My only gripe is that the ear pads have this musty smell to them, as if they were never replaced. I'm not sure whether to complain to Woot or to Turtle Beach, but they stink (literally). I just took them off and sprayed with Fabreeze, so hopefully that'll do the trick. Otherwise, if Woot or TB won't get me any replacements, then I'll probably have to buy some off eBay or something.

But other than that, awesome product. Sorry to all those people who received a DOA or incomplete package.

Woot states that you need to contact the manufacturer first, and then Woot. Best of luck, homie. If all else fails, you can always buy new ear pads from the TB website.

Yeah I sent an e-mail to TB, so we'll see what they say. I did see the replacement pads on the website, but I imagine shipping would at least double the cost...I'm probably better off just getting them from eBay or something.

Well, you could order $50 worth of ear pads from. Then you'll get them with free shipping! Ha ha... No, but seriously, I just checked out two earphones being shipping to the NYC area and the ear pads, at a total of $3.90, ended up having 8.49 in shipping. TOTAL rip.

Yeah. Well right now the Fabreeze/fabric softening sheet treatment has worked so I'm not minding so much.

But I just did run into a problem with my headphones. When I first opened and used them, the volume was really loud (couldn't use them beyond 50% volume unless I wanted to blow my ear drums out). A couple hours ago, I was playing and I heard this popping noise (possibly from router interference), and now my volume is about half as loud as before. If I turn it all the way up then it's okay, but I never used to have to do that before.

How's everyone else's volume working out?

As soon as I opened mine, my wfe wanted me to disinfect them first! Luckily they smelled new!

I get the popping noise too, but only after an hour of play and when I venture far from the transmitter. No loss in level of volume.
