Received it last evening, charged it, set it up, then it bricked! Just a 1/2 hour after set up. What a joke, thought I was getting a great pad at a even better price! Wrong!!!!!!!!!

I got another case from them, which is nice but I think I'd like this style even more.

But ACase has one like it, and then there's this version:

Out of the 4,200+? sent, we've had one who wants more Android help with the package, two with a blotched screen, and one which seems stuck on the 2nd day (probably low on juice).

The rest who posted seemed pretty happy. I'm on only my first day with it, and it's working really well and is gorgeous.

It did come with the smallest user's guide but it is glossy, full color, printed 5/11 in Korea and has 10 basic functions which it illustrates.

Very good point, I was thinking the same thing.

I would bet that the failure rate of these 4200+ units is probably lower than those coming of the assembly line, if as according to the "rebirthing certificate" they are put through the extensive hands on testing that it lists.

More reassurance - mine came two days ago...looks brand new and is working like a charm. Lots to learn about it!

Here's a video link that shows how to set up the Flash player and configure the tab to display web pages like on a desktop computer (vs. mobile versions).

I'm finding this tab much faster than my work-issued Gen 1 iPad. Lighter, too. So far, very pleased.

Got mine on Tuesday 12/06 in CA.

No scratches, display looks great. Upgraded
to 3.2, installed Kies on desktop, etc.
Everything went fine.

One issue so far:

The power switch seems to be flaky. I always
need to press hard for a long time to get
the device to turn on or off. On my other
android devices (both smartphones), a short
press turns off the display and puts the device
to sleep. A long press asks me if I want
to put it in airplane mode or power off.

The Galaxy Tab does not do that. Anyone else
have this issue? I am worried that it is a bad
switch and eventually will break.

Also, the device serial number in the back is
covered by the Nuko refurb serial sticker.
This is unlike what others have reported
here. How do you register the device on
Samsung website without the serial number?

Thanks!

I seemed to have had the same issue when I first turned it on, but then I plugged it to charge and waited a while then pushed it and it booted up just fine.

It seems a quick push puts it in sleep mode, a long press asks if you want to do airplane mode, sound off or shut off. Then a long press turns it back on. Seems to make sense to me.

As for the Serial #, mine is covered by the refurb. sticker as well, but in the settings screen under About Device / Status it gives you the units Serial #.

Another good story. Got mine last night (one day earlier than the "expected date", but I was still impatient anyway), and it has been working great since. No newton rings or bricks.

Only problem I ran into was that when I plugged it in via USB to my computer, it wouldn't charge. Could be because I don't have the drivers installed yet, but I also tried to charge via the plug.

Initially when plugged in, it wouldn't charge, but after I flipped the plug (changed the polarity), it charged completely. Not sure why it did this since the charger plug looks polarity agnostic (both prongs are the same size and not one big, one small.)

I'm having major issues with my Touch Screen - it will often just become unresponsive, and now I have it at work and it's not doing anything. Can't even reset the thing and I read online that I may have to just let the battery die to reset it. I am planning on returning this. Anyone else having this experience? This is still happening after the factory upgrade to Android 3.2, by the way.

Sorry for the double post - unintentional. For others having this problem, you can do a forced soft reset by holding down the power button for eight seconds or so.

I received yesterday. I played with it yesterday and it was so great and I love it. But today, after power it down and it can't bootup. After shows green man, it repeats to show samsung sign again and again, but just not the color screen. Is the OS problem or hardware problem? Anyone can help me? Thanks!

Update: I googled "samsung boot loop" and found a lot of users had the same issue. Maybe this is a system bug and my problem was triggered by setting up password. After enter system recovery mode, I was able to choose wipe data/factory reset to reset this tablet and reboot it and it works now.
Hope this can help someone has the same issue as mine.

Bummer. Mine gives me a "Warning: Camera Failed" error every time I try to open the camera, even after updating. The warranty service guy at Nuko was great, but now I have to pay shipping to return it, and wait about 2 weeks to get a (hopefully functional)replacement.

Smartpost is still being evil. Anyone else having issues with FedEx Smartpost? I called and now they've "escalated" it to see what is going on (as its been "in transit" for 2.5 days to go 10 miles at most).

I live less than an hour from Woot's physical location and still haven't gotten mine! It's ridiculous that it is taking this long. I contacted FedEx and they said there is no way to track it after the post office picks it up. I'm starting to think it has been lost somewhere along the way.

I'm still waiting for it to get to my post office. At least if it actually HAS gotten to the post office (and you want to make sure because they've lied to me at least once), you can contact the post office.

I bought three of these... one for myself and 2 for gifts.
I upgraded mine to 3.2 with out any problem. (Posting with it)

The other two, I am currently upgrading them together side by side. One has about 80 % battery and the other has less than 20.
But I noticed the one less than 20% battery juice is a bit slow and downloading speed is too.
Does it make sese that it is slower only because it has less juice?..

Got mine a day early. And yes, once it leaves FedEx really no way of tracking it.

USPS confirms it was delivered at the end of the night.

Mine turned on after some waiting, when I went to update it said it couldn't reach the server a couple times.

Waited a 1/2 hour then tried again and with no problem.

Really love the thing. I was checking it out for an hour or so then went to text someone on my Evo and my Evo felt like the screen size of an iPhone! Kind of weird.

Besides that, all is well. Gonna go home and mess around with it then head to a party and act like a normal human being!

Hope everyone gets theirs. It's tough with Woot, but worth it.

Got mine, looks great. 90% battery booted up and about 5 minutes in locked up. Had to power it down. Kept freezing, so a did a factory rest. Still freezing. Upgraded to 3.2 to see if that would help. Now I got a paper weight. Woot.

LOVE IT !! As a longtime (apple) purchaser The Ipad just looked like a big Ipod Touch to me. I had to make a hard choice between my Samsung Droid Phone and an Iphone this year and decided to give the competition a try.. Im happy I did!! Competition is good for business I thought..it makes you strive for better more user friendly products.. The Galaxy is spectacular. It might not be as easy to start up and go but it also doesnt have the walls you hit. And the screen is so vivid. Mine is working perfect and looks brand new. Upgraded without a hitch.

Only issue I have is with Apple and not Samsung..I couldnt get alot of my itune purchases off my desktop. I kept seeing little locks on everything which tells you upgrade (where available for a price) the songs to itunes plus allowing me to have them. Most your just stuck not getting because an upgrade doesnt exist. Nice One .. Any solutions to this ?? I used Air Sync.

All in all Im very very happy with my Woot purchase even if I had to switch to Amazon to buy my music. Oh and the battery isnt an issue on the tablet as it was on the the droid phone( I had to purchase a higher capacity battery off Ebay for the phone). The tablets battery is lasting forever so not an issue.

Download the full user guide from Samsung ... I already have that on my Tab, along with a good pdf-reading app (not Adobe, it sucks). The guide tells how the power switch works, along with a lot of other helpful stuff. Switch from the Samsung keyboard to the Swype keyboard ... much better.

Unimpressed with Android. Clunky and unintuitive with no hints of how things work and apparently no on-device help. Sending it back ASAP.

Apple phones and tablets have no more on-line help or hints of how things work than Android. Unlike with Apple you can change your launcher and there are some out there that look very much like Apple, and there are others that are much better -- I installed a launcher that lets me touch any of 9 areas around the edge of the screen and then swipe my finger to a matrix of app icons ... no need to push any buttons at all.

Lots and lots of smart people think Android is great and sufficiently intuitive, and would be very happy to take such a great tablet off your hands.

What's wrong with the charger that came with your GT? Anyway ... no, not only do you need to use Samsung's cable, but you need to use their charger ... you can't even charge from your computer's USB port. If I had realized this I might have boycotted them for such nefarious behavior.

There are four icons on the left of the status bar: back, home (press and hold for task manager), running apps list (press and hold for all apps), and screenshot -- I think it's a bit silly that such an infrequent operation has a dedicated button.

What do you mean "tab rotating"? Are you speaking of orientation or auto rotating? I had that problem with it rotating ok but having the orienting upside when I held it in landscape mode. I fixed it after going to Settings --> Screen --> Horizontal calibration (leave the tablet flat on a table with screen facing up) and push calibrate. Once it says "calibrated", just click on "back" arrow key in lower left of screen.

I've done alot of reading and dnld'd the manual. It would be wise for everyone to do the same. If you jump in and don't know anything, probs arise.

I'm up and running and so far everything works fine .. wifi, email, etc. I've downloaded a few apps and have netflix running and what a picture !!

Being new to android, this will take some time to figure out. For the cost, I'm pleased as can be. I hope you are also.

I am really liking this device. My work uses Google products for email and calendering, and it's seamless to put up widgets for those apps on the Tab. The screen is gorgeous. Just receive this well-priced case that fits like a glove. The case is dark navy and doesn't add much to the thin profile of the device. So far, very pleased.

Test the built-in microphone!

After years of buying from Woot!, the refurb gremlins finally got to me. I bought two of these tablets from Woot!. One works perfectly. The other one has a non-functional microphone on it.

I've contacted NUKO to claim warranty service on it. If anyone's interested, I can keep updating here.

For the rest of you, be sure to test the built-in microphone. It was a week before I got around to running an app which required voice input before I discovered this problem.
